no it isnt, in my experience no worse than seats at accor depending on where you sit. Couple that with perfect public transport and great food and toilet facilities as well as drinking options near by and it shts over going to Accor.
Maybe NRL should ban all games at accor as well until it gets rebuilt?
Public transport ?

accor is built right next to a train station

Keep shifting the goal posts bro

they probably made you change at lidocmbe cause they don’t like you

direct train in from Strathfield

dockslands is kinda empty too just so open with apartment towers

poor view for league

Better/as good as Accor does not equal good viewing experience.

It just means it is better/as good as Accor.

Optus provides a poor viewing experience for rectangle sports. All ovals do.

Newcastle and Win should have priority over Sydney suburban grounds because both come from regional areas. And both are also included under the VenuesNSW umbrella along with Accor, Commbank, SCG and Allianz.
Tbf Newcastle is largely done and Wollongong has a team playing six games there

Massive TV numbers for the Women's World Cup. Huge crowd for the Matildas, national treasures.

Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide are really holding themselves back not wanting to play a big part in this event. Brisbane and Sydney set to reap the rewards.

Get decent stadium infrastructure next time.

troll done good. In order for Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide to take away a semi or final they would have to build 60k plus rectangular stadiums. Yeh that makes public spending sense for one game once every 40-100 years event that requires it lol

Basically the Australian finals venues are
1/4 Suncorp
1/4 Allianz
semi Acorr
Final Accor

So which of those do you think would have gone to Perth or Adelaide and what size stadium would it have taken to have got it? Youre dreaming.

Perth just seems such a lessor city for not hosting a womens soccer 1/4 final :)

The Matildas were always going to sell out, the interesting statistic will be how many attend the other games. Though 21k for a midday Nigeria/Canada match today is very respectable.

AAMI Park is a great stadium and the right size for Melbourne. A bigger rectangular venue would be maybe used once a year for SOO, Bledisloe or a soccer friendly, and for those events Marvel or the MCG are adequate. Having experienced both, the rectangular field view from the top deck of the MCG is certainly no worse than the nosebleed section at Accor.

Proof is in the pudding. MCG and Optus sell out for Origin and the other major sports events held there. Neither city needs a $1billion 50k plus rectangular stadium.

Of course they passed on it. But what else would a 40k rectangular stadium be needed for? Even if there was one, Brisbane and Sydney would still get the finals due to having bigger stadiums.
Exactly. Anything bigger than a 30k, MAYBE 35k rectangular stadium in Perth is a solution looking for a problem.

The need just isn't there right now.

Now, once Perth has a new mid-size rectangular stadium (and games keeping it active - Union, League & Soccer), there may be a business case for an even bigger rectangular stadium in a generation or so - if rectangular-field sports take-off.

That bigger capacity ground could be built once the 30-35k ground gets to the end of it's lifespan (say 30 years, give or take) which is enough time for any generational shift in sporting tastes to be felt.
