Optus won’t be the home ground.
If it is as bad as SA they shouldn’t play origin or double headers there either. Since Parra got the new stadium which is amazing to watch RL in I just will not go to SA any more. I went for the GF last year and watched most of the game on the screen.

Is Optus as bad to watch a game as stadium Australia is?
I’ve watched about 15 or 20 games of RL at SA - it is so bad that it’s actually a total negative. I would rather a sports fan kicking the tyres on the game never go there. If Optus is like that then forget about expansion over there.
Was there the other week and found the viewing experience quote good

Obviously it doesn't compare to bankwest. It's a cricket oval.

Stadium Australia has far better viewing than Optus for 90% of the seating. Only the nosebleeds on level 6 would be worse.

What do you expect though? It's built for cricket and afl. Which means shit viewing for rectangular sports.

Not enough
If a Western Stand is built that boosts capacity to 25k with good corporate facilities. It will be. It'll be a good size, so even lean years feel well attended. It'd be crazy to expect them to build a 40k+ stadium conditionally to get an NRL team when we have cronulla playing out of a 12k stadium.

Future expansions can be negotiated and built incrementally. If Perth is getting 25k every game, it'll be easy to push for northern and southern stands to be rebuilt.

It would be great if they could get the whole stadium sorted in time for a Perth team’s first game with new western & northern stands, a roof over the southern stand and potentially the corners filled in as well. A new Western stand as you say would be a pass mark and enough for a start but it’d be good to see the NRL push for the whole lot from day one.

Of course there should be other criteria they need to satisfy. But a new stand at HBF would take care of the stadium part.
Like Jim said above other stands could do with work too. Not sure they need roofs

still an average stadium compared to what the storm play at which is what they should get
