And when they need nurses?

Education upgrades are needed too and will come along with a new floor or 2 at a hospital.
There won't be any money left for the football team if that's the plan lol.

Effectively building a modern state of the art hospital capable of offering the same level of care available in the major cities in Australia, staffing it with people with the necessary qualifications and training, and ensuring the infrastructure in the city can support it, would be a billion dollar plus project. There's no way that anything of the sort is included in the government's supposed plans for a PNG side in the NRL.

I grant that it'd be a better use of our taxpayers dollars than a football team though.

I love the big brained thinking that there should be first world quality facilities, but only for the millionaire footballers.

Cairns to Port Moresby is 840km.

So either your drug addled brain is inventing things or Phil Gould is the world's biggest bullshit artist
Just going off his story buddy, if he had a chopper booked for a reserve grade panthers trial, he must have thought the logistics of in preparing for the game and any contingencies after it... not like you would be open minded to this bid let alone a reserve grade trial there.. and yeah, hey maybe he was bullshìtting about it, but he said it, whether he needed the helicopter in the end or not,
Isn't there a cowboys forum/thread you need to converse in... tumbleweeds there too

If it isn't part of the plan they won't get in, The NRL needs an 18th team not a certain location.

As for the taxpayers money, Very likely the $60m comes out of the $600m a year that is already sent. Just re-directed to assist with making the play NRL suitable

When I say small I mean like 500 covered seats max. And they’ll probably be expat workers for the most part rather than tourists

Visit PNG is all over ground signage on the ground, The aim would be to increase tourism to go with the big

$60mil for what? Are you seriously suggesting you could upgrade a hospital for $60mil lol?!

Obviously it isn't part of the plan because there isn't anywhere near enough money in the plan to pull it off, and nobody other that you has even brought up the prospect of investing into the medical industry in PNG for the NRL players.

No you gimp, The latest report is $600m over 10 years locked in.

The report says social, economic and education improvements to go with it.

That tells me it is some longer term stuff involved, exactly what is the question but again the NRL can literally put a team in most places and it fine.

So for PNG to go next, There would have to be things getting put in place. Particularly if in 10 years the funding is being cut off

It doesn't say "locked in", it was a number seemingly pulled out of that journo's arse.

The official quote from Albo and the NRL was "noting has been decided yet"

Nothing was allocated in the FY24 budget

And LOL at the suggestion a hospital could be setup just to cater for the rich NRL players. Are you 12 years old?
