At this point in time the NRL has an agreement with the government that the stadiums will be torn down and be rebuilt in return for the GF remaining in Sydney. I they deal is broken by the government then the NRL should sell the GF to the highest bidder and not accept any bids from the NSW government.

and if the deal is broken & the 2 NRL GF sides run out onto the new stadium in Perth & the MCG , & Suncorp & the Adelaide oval in the years to come ... while ANZ sits unused & idle
Then Sydneysiders will have no one to blame but themselves for not standing up to the vocal minority moaning myrtles Helen Lovejoys
The Labor Govt needs to tred carefully too , if they continue to openly oppose the stadium rebuilds then the backlash from the above will sensure they're a one term Govt if they use this debate as an election issue & win

It's not shit for fans either, they get 3 new stadiums out of having one GF at the SCG. Also most of the fans that attend the SCG GF wouldn't get to attend if it was in another state.

the Perth Stadium was built ahead of time, so was the original ANZ stadium in 1999

if thats what it takes to get the stadiums built ... then the NRL has done the right thing by agreeing to this deal , the venues will be corner stones of the games growth & maintaining its position as the number one code in the nations largest city for the next half century

Well the way shit is going at the moment, I have my doubts the 2 stadiums are gonna get the original deal promised by the NSW gov. Im no chicken little, but f**k me the response by the muppets online has shown the disdain by the general public and I won’t be surprised if it all goes to shit for us.

Why is it everywhere else in Oz is proud of their current or future facilities and want to showcase them but sydney people are happy to put up with utter dross.

Melbournites will fight to the death over their beloved ‘G’

Adelaidians are super proud of the AO and the crowd numbers reflect it

Perth people have come around hugely to the $1.2 billion spent on their new digs and theres huge anticipation for its opening

Brissys lang park nothing more needs to be said

But Sydney people are happy to put up Leichardt f**king oval and Brooky in their current states and dont want to see the main stadiums get overhauls.
