Just for those who think we haven't fallen behind in this country with regards to rectangular stadium up grades, here is an example of a football stadium in Spain in Bilbao. Not a huge city, but look at the quality of the stadium....

It even has a museum......

Where’s the grass hills? Where’s the nostalgia? Where’s the 12k crowds? Lol t

ANZ is the nation's rectangular stadium - Origin, Socceroos, Wallabies, etc. Your argument is invalid.

Have you ever watched the Socceroos at ANZ? It’s an utterly dreadful experience. Behind the goals, where everyone wants to be at a football game is miles from the goal line.
The stadium isn’t in a proper rectangular configuration to try and argue it is, is ridiculous.

we'll probably continue with the Adelaide game too?

At this time we're only locked in to playing in Adeliade this year and next year - https://www.roosters.com.au/news/2017/12/19/roosters-to-play-in-adelaide-for-two-more-years/

I dare say we won't know till 2019 at the earliest what is going to happen in 2020 and beyond.

I take that with a relative grain of salt only because it is Rothfield and he cites no sources at all. So far, Roosters management have made no public announcement that I'm aware of.

Thing is, it is currently not rectangular it is a "multi-purpose" stadium which has an oval with the side stands which can be moved in and out. So I do know what I am talking about.

Further my argument is not invalid as you stated that only the Sydney Roosters use Allianz Stadium whilst ignoring Sydney FC and the NSW Waratahs who also use Allianz, which is what I pointed out. As such I suggest you learn comprehension before making pronouncement about the validity or otherwise of my posts, especially when I said I agree with you that ANZ needs a rebuild - so you in fact are shooting down your own initial argument about ANZ needing a rebuild

Three people miss my point. It SHOULD BE the nations rectangular stadium.

It SHOULD BE getting completely rebuilt and Allianz should be either not touched or rebuilt as a 30k club ground free of the SCG Trust.

We could get a better result for far less, and the only losers would be the SCG trust members. Instead we are spending far more for a crap result to keep them happy.

Ok. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated :)

If the Tigers had an strategic nous they would have been campaigning for the past 10 years for a stadium in Liverpool. They’d been training there and have a center of excellence there. It makes way more sense than Campbelltown or Parramatta as a permanent base. They are the team for South West Sydney if they want it.

Stadium in Liverpool you say?

Bit small for NRL, but it’s a start.

I cant believe Penrith would keep playing at that freezing cold shit hole when the best rectangular stadium in the country is 10 minutes down the road.
They should play out of WSS.
If they are worried about their pokie machines then do a deal with Parra Leagues to lease a level on game day or something. One level of Parra Leagues should be leased to NSW Leagues club who then divide whatever they make up between the league clubs that feel like they are missing out from home games near their club.

It’s 30km from Penrith to Parramatta. Way too far.

Parra - 11 WSS, 1 NT
Tigers - 11 WSS, 1 Tamworth
Penrith - 11 WSS, 1 Bathurst
Dogs - 11 WSS, 1 where ever.

Genuinely don’t think the pitch could handle that traffic.

Perhaps if you had no curtain raisers? Still there’s no chance of the panthers moving there.

That roof is similar to what we’ll see at WSS. Maybe not quite as far out, but it’ll have a very good drip line.

Hopefully we see similar at ANZ & Allianz.
