That are DDA compliant in an already 30-year old stadium that fails most accessibility requirements as it is?
You tell me.
I'm not being paid to provide answers, just participating in discussion. I don't even have floor plans to examine. Although if I had a couple of hours with a scale ruler and a copy of the relevant legislation in hand I could probably think of a few suggestions.
Maybe move something that already exists on ground level up a floor? A slight reconfiguration to put in a few more toilets? How many more could possibly be required? Are we really pissing so much more than 30 years ago? How many bottles of Coke do fat kids consume in 80 minutes?
It amazes me that we can't apply any creativity to this situation. I'm sure that if it were a Westfield and a business had to pay for it a cheaper answer could be found.
Just a straight out "doesn't fit, new stadium needed."
We can have a supposed new high-tech stadium designed but even an elementary level of creativity for an affordable refurbishment option of a 30 year old stadium can't be provided?
My god. Worst case scenario put stairs and a lift. Put in 100 lifts and it's still far cheaper than a knock down rebuild.
This whole plan has been covered with a shroud of secrecy. No transparency whatsoever. It can't be that hard to add in a few more amenities to this stadium.
This new play thingy will be fun for my first couple visits. I'll enjoy going there. But it's a shithouse use of government money.
Anyway, something for the people of Sydney to ponder in their 2 hour employment commute.
