NETSTRATA ANNOUNCED AS JUBILEE STADIUM NAMING RIGHTS SPONSOR
31/01/2019

Georges River Council is pleased to announce strata management company Network Strata Services Pty Ltd (‘Netstrata’) as the new Naming Rights Sponsor of Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah.

The venue will now adopt the name ‘Netstrata Jubilee Stadium’ for a term of three years. The announcement follows an Expression of Interest process and a decision by Council in December 2018 for naming rights at the Stadium.

Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene said that he is pleased to reveal Netstrata as the successful applicant for naming rights sponsorship of the esteemed venue.

“I am delighted to announce Netstrata, a locally-based company with a strong history in the Georges River area, as the naming rights sponsor of Netstrata Jubilee Stadium,” said Mayor Greene.

“Netstrata enters into the partnership at an exciting time for the stadium as its profile continues to increase, becoming a sought-after venue for professional football clubs and elite training.

“2019 is set to be an action-packed year of sport at the stadium, which will host several games for the Asian Champions League and the Cup of Nations, as well as the St George Illawarra Dragons game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.”

Stephen Brell, Managing Director of Netstrata explained the historical ties that the strata management company has with the local area, describing the partnership as a “natural fit.”

“Netstrata is delighted to be formally associated with one of Australia’s leading sporting venues and some of the country’s most successful and iconic sporting clubs,” said Mr Brell.

“Jubilee Stadium has been the focal point for major sports and entertainment in the St George area for more than 80 years. Just about everyone in southern Sydney has a fondness for the venue and great memories of attending an event there.

“Netstrata is also proud to have been part of the St George community from our first day in 1996, and we plan on being here a lot longer. That’s why this partnership is such a natural fit for our business.

“We congratulate Georges River Council for the investments it has made in upgrading Jubilee Stadium in recent years to make it truly world-class. We look forward to plenty of exciting events and a very successful partnership over the next three years.

Sydney FC will go head-to-head with Melbourne City at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in their last game of the A-League on Sunday 3 February. The football heroes will also play three Asian Champions League home games at the venue, commencing Wednesday 6 March 2019.

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium will stage the first international fixture ever with the Matildas playing the Cup of Nations double-header on Thursday 28 February against New Zealand, and Argentina against South Korea. The St George Illawarra Dragons game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs will take place on Thursday 16 March 2019.

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium is one of Sydney’s premium boutique sporting venues, consistently providing the Georges River community and Sydney’s southern region with a diverse mix of first-class sporting fixtures.

Georges River Council looks forward to a positive partnership with Netstrata across the next three years as Netstrata Jubilee Stadium continues to bring quality sport events to the Georges River area.

It’s ridiculous that the nrl and qrl aren’t kicking up a stink about this aflw stadium being built in Ipswich. AFL has never been a thing in Ipswich it’s a rugby league city. A small boutique rectangular stadium in Ipswich would be far more beneficial to the economy and would attract far more patrons and would possibly bode well for a future NRL team bid. The Jets would obviously play out of it every week, could also play women’s a league out of it, play some nrl trials there, even some super rugby. This afl stadium white elephant will only ever get women’s afl.

1. Have the Jets or QRL actually bothered to put a proposal forward? If not, they can't really complain. Funding announcements like this don't happen out of thin air.

2. I'm not sure why you feel it pertinent to point out that the venue will "only ever get women's afl" - that's precisely what they said and I don't think that would be viewed as an insult lol

Could still probably fit the crowd in for the mens side anyway.

Might need to check their average home crowd average against even our own Storm average, kind of makes a little mockery of what we can achieve if they're the 'joke'. They have dipped a fair bit since they were successful but would still be a nice average to have at Storm games letter lone Sydney games.

They peaked in the early 30k averages when they were successful and had 29k in 2009... since then they've fallen through the floor and now only attract 16-18k per game in recent years. In AFL terms that's woeful.

Yes in AFL terms pretty horrible, crowds in expansion markets are always more vulnerable when the success is not there, as the foundation support isn't as strong. I hope we at the Storm have built enough of a foundation that if we start to slide we don't see such a decline in crowds as the Brisbane Lions have experienced. Still, would be nice to average 18k when we are going terribly for a number of years in a row...

If you're coming from a base of 30k+, it wouldn't be "nice".

This stuff use to worry me as well, but I now recognise that RL, the NRL and NRL clubs are so far behind AFL in relation to that stuff (politics/stadiums/expansion) that it isnt even worth thinking about.

mate this is the leftiest leftville in the country

I doubt we have a liberal government ever again

What I can't grasp is why lefties tend to be AFL lovers and RL haters. I get it if they are anti RU with their Catholic school ties and corporate links but RL? I thought the lefties would lap up all of the PC BS the NRL puts out.

I always thought RU is private school where as RL has strong catholic ties. Lefties are generally atheists, though

Worth noting it's for their AFLW team, not their mens side

The whole ''it's for the women'' was just a nice way for the Lions and the AFL to sneak a state of the art training facility into our region on Government money. The men's team only pull just over 10k to some of their lower drawing matches let alone the women. AFL is really vulnerable in SEQ right now.

I wish we had an aggressive NRL admin that could put the final nail in their coffin with Brisbane 2 whilst we have the chance. It would be two birds, one stone because it would severely hurt the QLD Reds too.
