When did they give them that? Is it locked in?
I am guess it is a 20 year head lease thing, if it is locked in it would look pretty bad for the AFL to refuse other teams (especially womens teams) to play there given tax payer contributions.
If it is not locked in sneak in and outbid them for the head lease (NRL/QRL should help back this). At least drive their costs up.

Is anyone here involved with the Jets or QRL and can give some further insight?

What I can't grasp is why lefties tend to be AFL lovers and RL haters. I get it if they are anti RU with their Catholic school ties and corporate links but RL? I thought the lefties would lap up all of the PC BS the NRL puts out.

We have not had liberal govt since 2001 we will not have liberal govt into the future because ACT has become a very upwardly mobile leftist paradise. we voted 70% for the plebiscite. we are the most left leaning place in the country across the board.

so if the leader of the labor party, who it doesn't matter what they do they win...is an AFL slurper and cares not for the raiders or brumbies....this is what you get.

Also it is a city with a large number of public servants ,in various Fed Govt Depts.They tend to be Labor voters, and Barr knows it and his continual re election shows it.And the AFL and Gnats lap up the largesse.

Yes, I've seen a few comments about him in this thread throwing money at Manuka upgrades and GWS games whilst the two codes committed to the city get nothing.

So the original plan was a stadium in the city but that's basically on the permanent backburner post the asbestos thing.
but then theres money for manuka and to pay the giants to play here.
the govt did put money toward the raiders hq, but its small amounts

one could argue, that they don't want to commit to anything big. so small amounts here and there are affordable.
the greatest asset to the raiders and brumbies atm is the a league bid. which wilst it didn't get up a few months back there are rumblings that act has the inside track on the next team and it could be at the expense of the phoenix

if theres third tenant, they have to really consider it particularly if theres a league, w league, Socceroo potential aswell.
