I only just realised today’s game isn’t on ch9. I never watch them do had no idea (thought it’d be a special occasion like ANZAC day)

Rugby League continues to be run by absolute muppets, and how’d the NSW govt not demand a free to air game for the opening?!

Astounding.

So much this. It should have been one of the channel 9 games. Get the game broadcast in the best possible light, to the greatest possible audience.

But no, stick it on fox.

The stadium didnt magically become ready overnight, its been available all weekend.

Too late now. They have NFI

not an NRL venue but very nice
One of the best things about it in my opinion is the cockerel on the roof (top left corner). Absolutely love it, and no doubt would provide the best home feeling to both the supporters and players. They had it also at White Heart Lane, but it just looks so much better in the placement it is in currently on display.

it's things like this that make me wish that rugby league was big enough for teams to financially control their own stadiums.

Imagine statues of Jack Gibson outside Bankwest, or Daily Messenger outside the new SFS looking upon the massive stadiums that once were muddy fields with spectators sitting on cars and roofs to watch the game.

Bankwest Stadium boasts the steepest grandstands in the country and is expected to take on more NRL matches next season as the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs seek clarity from the state government over its plans for the redevelopment of ANZ Stadium.

The Olympic Park base will host concerts until February next year at this stage.

A spokesman for Venues NSW, the government agency that oversees ANZ Stadium, said: "The NSW government is doing its homework in preparing a robust business case on the redevelopment of ANZ Stadium and the final business case will be considered by government in coming months.

"The construction timeline will be clearer once the final business case has been considered. As Venues NSW works with Infrastructure NSW to complete the final business case, ANZ Stadium continues to focus on opportunities to maximise the commercial operations of the venue."

Sounds like it's still very much up in the air.

Blame Channel 9. Whilst the NRL may set the schedule, the TV broadcasters still have a big say. Nine chose Canberra v Brisbane as their second game for TV.

I had plans for the night of Souths game at Para next month. They’ve been rearranged as it looks and sounds awesome.
The games on a Friday night but I hope they can still pull a fair crowd.
