Colossal single tiered stands don't lend themselves to having a workable "club mode"

I'm not advocating an exact replica but that stand is for standing, which allows it to have an 80K + capacity. We can't have that in Australia

For internationals the capacity is 65K without the standing area

But that stadium creates an amazing atmosphere, one of the best in the world

We just don't have the culture of active support to sustain terraces like this.

The RBB and the Wanderers actually lobbied to have a terrace included at WSS but to no avail.

Personally, I love terraces because of the atmosphere generated, but going away from mod cons and comfort simply doesn't suit Sydney's culture of event attendance or practical stadia future.

The single tiered terrace is not going to happen, I know that
I know an exact replica won't happen here, a lack of corporate seats will be an issue

I don't see why a modified version to suit the codes and needs here is impossible

What elements of the westfalestadion are you suggesting would be appropriate for a new Homebush then?

Just that it's rectangular?

Safe standing isn’t happening at BankWest? I thought there was a process where they can remove the seats at one end?

1% gripe about bankwest is they made the back top seats a bright white coulour..

These are going to be the last seats to fill up for most games.. and an empty white seat stands out like dogs balls...

Should have been more dark blue ones up the back..

big hit!

Agree though that for the amount of time it would get filled here, it's pointless. Spurs will fill it over 50 times a season

Floorplan of Bankwest. Only section I could find for free, otherwise had to subscribe to some website to see full plans. Looks good but.

So thats what $360M buys you. I’d assume for another $100M or so you could scale that design up another 10-15K.
Anyone care to tell me what the other $200M+ at Moore Park is for?

Unless you are an actual engineer, you've plucked that figure out of thin air.

Thing to remember the capacity for the new SFS is supposed to be 45-50k. Also they plan to build an under ground cap park. The car park alone would not be cheap to build due to the excavation required.

That is what I read in the press will happen. There is one section where they will remove the seats for the RBB to stand at Wanderers home games. When the Eels play, that are will have the seats re-installed.

Edit: Following is from this article in today's Sydney Morning Herald -

One key feature we won't get to see until Leeds United play the Western Sydney Wanderers is the removal of several bays of seats at the bottom of the Peter Sterling Stand, which will become standing room only for A-League games. That was the top priority for the club, and their active fans in the Red and Black Bloc.

I think WSS could have had more ground level seating in the western terrace if the boxes were 5 to 10m futher back
