This is a classic case where the NRL and the FFA need to lobby together for either modifications to this Stadium OR a parallel build of a boutique rectangular stadium.Perhaps the NRL should put a few million into the design of any new Hobart Stadium just to ensure it includes “compromises” that make it “suitable” for hosting Rugby League. Certainly ye olde rectangular sports would prefer a thinner straighter ground like Stadium Australia than a big open oval like the MCG. Promise them an annual pre-season double header for 5 years and a one off Australia v New Zealand test match.

New $750 million stadium proposed for Hobart
The Tasmanian government announced that it will build a new $750 million multi-purpose stadium at Hobart’s Regatta Point as part of its ten-year strategic stadium plan.
It was actually selling pretty well and with the right promotion would probably have seen 45k plus. Unfortunately half the city copping flooding and then Reynolds getting covid, 27k-32k is where it will probably end up.
The scrums will f**k up the already saturated turf. They should just play the onionball at Perry Park. Its capacity is more than enough for the Reds' small fanbase.
