Would this happen in Canberra?

the ACT is typically a high earning mostly middle-upper class territory, I don't think it has the burgeoning lower-welfare class that Tassie has, so probably not.

One only has to look at real estate prices in the nations capital and that they are indicative of a large portion of the populace earning decent coin.

Just landed in Adelaide and great to see origin plastered all over the airport. Taking a walk and very impressed with the location of the stadium here, close to city and lovely area on the river. Origin will be a good night here. Good spot for a magic round! View attachment 74198

Highest earners of all Australians & while the housing is expensive , we also have the
highest disposable income of all Australians too.

Yeah the ACT has a higher average income than normal, but cost of living is way higher than the average as well.

I don't really want to get into it, but inbetweeners (earn enough to fall into higher tax brackets and not to qualify for social welfare programs, but not enough to be financially stable) are a real thing and a real problem in Canberra, and our statistics are weighted by a couple of industries and a minority of people in those industries who are on stupid money.

The real estate situation in Canberra is almost exclusively because of a massive supply shortage and an unsustainable immigration rate as well. The ACT rental market has got to be the worst in the country as well.

So yeah, these issues are significantly more complex than they are being portrayed here.

Penrith Panthers could be on the move to Parramatta to play out of CommBank Stadium for 18 months. Premier Chris Minns will honour the previous government’s $309m funding pledge to build a new stadium on the existing site in Penrith. However the old Stuart Ayres plan to purchase Penrith Paceway for the new stadium has been scrapped. The move to Parramatta is likely to happen in 2025.

In daily tele today.

So the business case was a sound one, then?

That's actually the sensible decision.
Let's hope capacity is at least 25000 which is easily possible for a re-build on the current site.

The current site is pretty limited at the ends by Ransley St at the north end and the underground sewer main at south end. I’d imagine the best design would be two-tiered main stands each side with smaller single tiers or terracing at the ends. Replacing the family hill with a terrace section would be a nice touch.

I keep hearing about the sewer main. Surely that can be built over the top of, how wide could it be?
