Not sure about the engineering, cost or popularity, but you could have the Western Stand wrapped around to the North and South (similar to the plan but a little higher capacity than 2,818). A full length Western Stand would surely be around 8k and north and south around 8k as well. Instead of the low rise low capacity Eastern stand, build a lower tier up to the height of the hill now, leave a 3-4-5 m gap to the next tier and build an upper tier. Keeps the ocean views which are unique and special for a sports venue, have a grass embankment on the back side of the Stand for the fans to enjoy the view without being cramped on a concourse. You could also have some corporates on the eastern stand with a view out to the ocean. Would make an absolute Mint from those. Gives a capacity of ~25k. And stops the issue of games looking poor when there's rain and noone sits on the hill.

Huge potential for WIN Stadium to not only be a destination venue for Australians, but for international people as well. As far I know there isn't a venue like it in the world.
Extremely dodgy mockup of what I mean (Except in the second photo North and South also done + maybe some corporates)WIN Stadium.pngWIN Stadium East.png

DFS was a dump but was still better than Brooky, Campbelltown, Leichardt, Shark Park, Belmore, Penrith and possibly Canberra.

But only an idiot would have a remotely negative opinion on NQ getting a CBD stadium like QCB.........
Thought you would get my point but you missed it.

the cowboys played in a dump that wasn’t fit for the nrl for a large part of their existence which had hills until they got lucky

unlike north qld getting a brand new ground in Sydney for one club is hard

nobody is suggesting build new grounds with hills

mate you try to make a different point in every stadium discussion on here, it's hard to get a grip of what you actually want.

Do you want RL clubs playing in shit heaps with hills or modern all seaters?

DFS/1300's was fit for NRL for the large majority of its existence if the comp is still playing at joints like Brooky, Campbelltown, Leichardt, Shark Park, Belmore and Penrith. But the shitful location of DFS coupled in with the west stand having less than the ideal corporate box set up and did not pass current fire code requirements. Knocking it down and rebuilding is not an option when there is no alternate place to play at for 2 years during the rebuild.

You keep saying "getting lucky", the state gov did SFA for us other than a plot of land that had the west stand we got into the comp in 1995, the original version was all built by locals donating material, machinery and time. NQ also paid for the northern and southern stands and did all the car parks with our coin.

If it's alright for the Broncos and Titans to have their digs, than it's 100% right that we get our new joint, there's nothing "lucky" about it.

I remember getting rained on underneath the Eastern Stand in 2019 at half time when the Dragons visited the ground during my only visit there. Was a decent downpour for a Victorian to experience when we mostly get drizzle at our events

yeah the early season games can be shitful to sit through if there's a decent wet season around.

Yep being given a plot of land right in the middle of the city is nothing

every nrl club would love to play at a ground like commbank or titans or cowboys provided it’s actually in their traditional area

so for clubs like wests that’s complicated

having been a fan of a club with “hills” you could show some sympathy to those who aren’t so lucky to get 300 million just for them

hills are great on a nice sunny day

Tvl council donated the land, not the state gov. Probably worth 1/100th of the plot of land Suncorp sits on but do go on...... NQ fans, much like Newy's, prove time and time again they punch well above their weight attendance wise even when they're going utterly shitful.

I 100% have sympathy for fans of Sydney clubs with shitbox grounds, I played for Moorebank in my teens when I first moved to Sydney and Belmore was where we played all our finals games and it was shit in the early 90's and not much has changed, I also lived in Sydney during my early 20's when I started working and wherever NQ played in NSW I would attend so I have experienced them all at some stage. Sunny days are fine, but being a winter sport well you know where I am going with it.....

But clubs cannot cry about say Kograh being shitful and then literally 20mins drive away is $800 mil Allianz stadium sitting there idle. Play the appropriate game in the appropriate stadiums.
