Future NRL Stadiums

That's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that by the end of 1996 they were averaging about 6000 per game.

crowd numbers had dropped off badly.

That's the situation they faced.

A one team city that has massive overheads can only get 6000 to a game.

The numbers were dropping consistently over the 4-5 years they existed.

But ey don't let the facts get in the way of a pipe dream.

Lol, now even other Cronulla fans are embarrassed by you.

The Sharks are now in the top half of Sydney sides financially. There is about 6 teams up for forced relocation before Cronulla not that the NRL will ever force a team.

You could probably make one decent club out of tiger and sharks. Surely the answer to sydneys over saturation is to merge them and move them west. Perth Tiger Sharks.

One decent club?

There is one objective measurement of whether a club is decent or not. The premiership. The sharks rolled your mob to take the title as the most decent club you Derrick.

So we've established
Perth didn't have the worse crowds 95-97 and in fact were better supported than some heartland teams
Cronulla have a sketch on a cigarette packet as proof of grand plans for a stadium development
Melbourne are a bigger club than Cronulla and offer more value to nrl
Perth aren't getting a club anytime soon

Righto back to future stadiums lol

Hang on mate I'll just go look over my back fence at the f**king giant skyscraper the sharks just put up that is as of last month full of residents.

*looks over back fence*

Yep she's still there.

He is wrong on every figure he has put up so don't expect him to be able to justify any of it lol.

Perth crowd avg 10,231
Cronullamcrowd avg 10,054

Perth largest home crowd 24,932
Cronulla largest home crowd 22,302

Perth lowest crowd 5,083
Cronulla lowest crowd 2,361

And all, that with the advantage of other Sydney clubs boosting cronullas crowds!

They clearly cut the wrong club in 1998

Perth Population was a million plus in the mid 90s.

The Sutherland Shires population was sub 200k.

Aaaaand we just won the comp at a sold out ANZ that was 95% sky blue.

Aaaaand we beat Melbourne.

Aaaand Hull KR got relegated.

I did, I ask because your claim of an 6000 average is rubbish. You either don't understand what an average is or you are making stuff up, which one?

There is not s log of info on the club from back then but there is this.

I accept your apology.

Wikipedia

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WA_Reds

After declaring that the club may not have the financial resources to compete in the 1996 ARL Optus Cup, a major sponsorship with the Rupert Murdoch-owned Sunday Times gave the club some much needed money. By mid 1996 club support had dwindled to just over 6,000.

By mid 1996 club support had dwindled to just over 6,000, there were 50% more people there at the end of 1996 than you claimed.[/

So not the end on 1996 as you claimed? there were 3 games mid 1996 around the 6000 mark, but the last 3 games of 1996 averaged almost 9000. That's a long way off 6000 at the end of 1996. So i'll accept your apology.

As per usual you are incorrect, there is plenty of info around from that era. Want to know something about the season you have chosen to use to claim Perth had no fans?

Rd 3 Reds v Cronulla at waca crowd 9,345
Rd4 Cronulla v Reds at shark park crowd 9,132

Yet Reds had terrible crowds? Lol

As for your assertion that the crowd had dropped to 6000, the final game the Reds played in 97 drew 12.3k against Canberra

f**king hell. I pop in to check on my beloved stadia thread and there's page upon page of this f**king shit.

Carch, you are loosing the argument badly.

ECT, you are an arse hole and a bully. Don't mock people with disabilities ffs.

PR. Everyone knows where you stand. Don't bite everytime and you won't come across as a one trick pony.

Now move it to the expansion forum. I'll even start a thread for you.

Really??? that many showed up to say goodbye.
Where were they the rest of the year?

Sharks last home game drew over 17000 in 97

In fact the worst crowd they had was against the reds
It was also the only game they didn't get over 10000 to.
On the other hand the reds only managed to get scrape over 10000 4 times at home.
12000 was their highest crowd figure.
( shithouse) all year.

Their second last game they got a whopping 5000 to.
Not really up to standard.

And just clear something up.
I said the end of 1996
You've quoted numbers from 1997
You like to use figures out of context don't you?

In 1996 the reds last 2 games ( the last 6 weeks of the comp) got approx 7000 and 5000
Add that together and divide it by 2 and you get an average of 6000.

Thank you come again.

They got about 12000 against the warriors
But anyone with half a brain can work out that the crowd would've been mostly kiwis.

Probably expats
Like yourself.

But sadly you can't play the warriors every weekend.

The 2 games prior to the kiwi anomaly were again approx 7000 and 5000 crowds.
