Looks cool. Vaguely reminds me of the 'Oasis Project' debacle from about a decade ago though.

I think the most likely Western Sydney stadium is likely to be a minor Parramatta upgrade. The government does seem to like band-aid solutions for such things.

Liverpool is terrible area to get to as well as being a terrible part of Sydney full stop. Can't see it happening. Either parra will be upgraded or blacktown might get a stadium. The location is anz is pretty much the centre of Sydney, maybe they could knock down the athletics centre and build a stadium there!

agreed why liverpool its useless to the NRL

the problem with a new stadium in western sydney is where to maximise usage for all clubs

parramatta is the best option and even that isnt ideal

just do up ANZ stadium, clubs can use suburban grounds for smaller games and marquee games at homebush

if clubs want to break 20k theyve got to use homebush

the stadium in those drawings will cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

just do up anz and allianz with with a roof on each thats as good as were going to get.

then market the hell out of big games

Huh?

Parramatta is a better option that Liverpool??? Thats ridiculous, theyre right next door to each other. And realistically no clubs are based near parramatta other than the eels.

Check out the map. The distance between Parra and Homebush (A & B). Why would you invest all your infrastructure there? Liverpool is nicely in between the south west Tigers region and the inner south west Bulldogs region. With the m7 its probably no worse than Homebush for Penrith and actually isn't even terrible for the Sharks (along Heathcote rd, not that Im suggesting they should play there)

Ideally you'd have

Liverpool: 12 Tigers games, 12 Bulldogs games, 4 Panthers game, maybe even a couple of dragons games if we persist with this strategy involving anz
Parramatta: 10 Eels games
Penrith Park: 8 Panthers games
SFS: Roosters and Souths and 2 dragons (SFS/SCG)
ANZ: Major events (SOO / finals / and the odd blockbuster such as maybe Easter Monday or Eels vs Dogs; Dogs vs Dragons).

Won't happen like that, but I reckon thats what would be ideal

My question regarding the location of Liverpool - is it better for Sydney based Dragons fans than ANZ?

If you're talking St George District, much of a muchness I would say. 20-25min drive either king George's rd or M5. ANZ possibly easier in peak hour but Liverpool possibly easier with a clear run on a Sunday arvo

Big fan of a stadium being built in the Liverpool area

If only the Canterbury Oasis project had gone ahead in the mid 1990's

Wtf is doing in the lower bowl on the right?

Does that allow the pitch to be rolled in and rolled out ala Cardinals stadium in Arizona?

Campbelltown to Liverpool - 24 mins, 24km
Campbelltown to Parramatta - 44 mins, 51km

Yep they are practically the same place!

Meanwhile parra to homebush: 16mins, 10km.

Parra is the one ground that is useless to use as a Western Sydney shared stadium

liverpool is useless to everyone, its near no NRL club

liverpool is also a massive dump. it wont attract fans having to travel to such a remote location in sydney.

putting a stadium near none of the current western sydney NRL sides is a dumb idea.

Parra can play their big games at anz.

penrith should get used to the idea as well.

tigers and bulldogs already do play there.

thats all the western NRL sides covered.

the NSW govt wont be spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a white elephant at liverpool

This stadium where the old Wonderland used to be would be great. Right off the lighthorse interchange (M7 and M4 intersection).

The only downside is that there's no train lines there.

That's like saying "the only downside is its in the middle of the ocean"

No train line means you need parking for what, 25,000 cars?

Liverpool is almost in the direct middle of all 4 west sydney clubs. Dogs to the east, tigers southwest, Penrith North west, eels northeast
