Future NRL Stadiums

IMO apart from the colour of the seats that new stand facing the TV cameras looks fantastic.... very steep incline, those seats on the second tier would be amazing.

Can't wait to see what it looks like once they put in the new pitch and eventually work their way around the other two sides

Re the parra stadium, 13-15k in a 45k stadium will still look crap. A 30-35k would e much better. Allianz is there should we ever regualrly get 30k+ to the game of the week and anz if we need bigger.

Always an agenda to move games to ANZ or SFS, you never stop. *ignores*

Wtf you on about? We are talking about the ideal size of a new stadium for clubs in western Sydney. Are you reading the thread or just stalking me?

Hmm i feel like there is a lot less chance of the stadium getting the go ahead if it's that small. At 45K it's much more capable of holding a wider range of events rather than just passing it off to allianz or ANZ whenever a big crowd is expected.

Either way i really don't care, if we get a new stadium in western Sydney it will be fantastic whether it's 30K capacity or 45K.

He speaks right but Parra should just merge with Penrith.

And this sort of post is why no-one takes anything you have to say seriously. Get a grip man.

and the nib new stands opened for the first time. Still work going on with the food and toilet outlets and looks like a piece of roofing still to go on.

Wow I must say that is a huge improvement, I was over in Perth to see Pearl Jam play there on 2009 and it looked like it was almost ready for the scrapheap. That's an awesome stadium.

Yeh big improvements, cost $95.1 million so should be good! Just need to replace the west stand next and put a full width roof over the shed end and we'd have a great 27-30,000 capacity stadium.

there is a stage 2 plan but doubt it will be done for some time. This stage was done with the premise of an NRL team in perth and govt were very miffed when expansion was put off again. If we ever get to the point where we have an NRL team and we are regularly getting 18k+ crowds then they will probably move ahead with phase 2. One advantage we do have is we always seem to have massive budget surplusses so they can find $100mill for projects without too much difficulty. In the stage 2 they talked about replacing the west stand and replacing the shed end with seats and putting a roof over both ends with corner in fills to link it all round. Most fans want to see the shed end remain standing terracing but have a proper roof over the whole stand, that would create an amzing atmosphere and allow a capacity of 2-3000 more than if they replaced it with seating. I can definitely see a "save the shed" campaign if they ever move ahead with stage 2.

I can't see if the NSW Goverrnment build a new stadium in the West that it would be at Parramatta or Penrith. Firstly apart from the Panthers no other team would play home games at Penrith (doubt the West Sydney Wanders want to play there).

At Parramatta you would have the EELS and the Wanders but no other NRL team would want to play home games there and it is close to ANZ which can cater for bigger crowds.

As I have said many times Liverpool is the place to build it. Have the Tigers and Dogs playing full time there and the Wanders would be keen as it is very close to large soccer areas in the Fairfield region. For mine it would ba a lot more viable than a new stadium at Parramatta especially as the Tigers and Dogs usually average higher home game crowds than the EELS.

Yes, simply resurrect the Oasis stadium proposal in Woodward park. Short walk from Liverpool station, near m5/m7. M5 exit just 500 meters away, right on the Hume highway.

Would anybody think it was reasonable for Manly to play out of Telstra?
Didn't think so! And yet Brookie is closer to Telstra than Centrebet is to Parramatta!

Besides, even the State Government is saying that Penrith should be recognised as a Regional City and be the 'capital' of the Greater West. The area deserves an upgraded stadium!
