And even though Wade proved to be pretty poor in an extended run it was the completely correct call to drop Haddin when he was. The last twelve tests before he got dropped he only hit two fifties in 19 innings and averaged under 23, and his keeping was abysmal.

Wade wasn't "pretty poor." He was absolutely disgraceful. Made Kamran Akmal look like Ian Healy up to the stumps.

Jonathon Brown is one of the nicer AFL guys, almost nice enough to consider him as an NRl player, big tough bastard too, would have made a decent back rower I reckon.

Such a big strong bloke with big levers.

First game as captain, team under the pump. What a brilliant ton by Smithy! And eating some tasty humble pie re. Johnson, he has just belted them. Would love to see him get another test hundred.

Get off the sauce. It's very rare a bowler gets into that bracket. Even Notch last year was only touching 150 and same goes for Steyn or Edwards and Best from the Windies. In the last 10 years only Lee, Shoab and Tait have gone past 150kms at only very short periods of their careers.

How many bowlers are 150+ these days?

Shaun Tate was bowling over 150 in BBL last night.

His first ball maybe. He's also Bowls very full which often reads higher than a short length ball on the radar. I remember one time when Greg Blewett and McGrath were bowling together and the gun was recording Blewett in the high 130s and McGrath in the low 130s.

Because he got dropped by Tassie last Shield round.

The problem with dropping Haddin is who will you replace him with. There is no keeper scoring a mountain of runs in Shield cricket so why drop Haddin?
He's averaging under ten with the bat over the last 7 tests or so? Peter Nevill is averaging 62 with the bat at present and would be a decent upgrade. Carters and Handscombe are both scoring runs but neither are good enough with the gloves at this point. Hartley is averaging 33 and is a superb keeper (although at the age where keeping can decline rapidly. I think he would've done quite well had he been added when haddin was first dropped but they probably don't want to go to a player of his age right now).

Paine never recovered properly after rbeaking his finger in an exhibition match

Whiteman is the man for the future, probably, but is off to a poor start this year. Nev for 3-4 year then Whiteman would be the hopeful move but we'll see.

I think Neville will be our next keeper but Hads will be allowed to go on his own terms I reckon.

I really hope we dont see Wade near the test team, he had a go and f**ked it up, not test standard

Great 100 to the new skipper, awesome knock by Mr Slave lets hope this gets his bowling going. Normally when he bats well he bowls well.

Carters and Handscomb aren't even first choice keepers for their state. Nevill is next in line for mine, though I can see the selectors picking Wade. :(
