I really hope it's not true as I f**king love Galvin, but if he doesn't take the extension then writing is on the wall

They've tried. He wants to test the market. I don't see why we can't keep him but we'll be paying top dollar. I don't think at this point he is worth the risk.

I think that little over the top kick for Skelton's try, was from a player who can read the game and he's only 19.
I believe he should be kept at all costs.
Both him and Luai, will be a force to be reckoned with soon.

Not here to be annoying, what do you think he's worth? What extension would you want him to sign?

I would think 5 years as a minimum.
Anyone offering him a contract, are paying on potential at this time, but I certainly think the potential is there, he'll end up at least $1m+ a season, after a few years, on his current projector, so for me, some sort of incentive contract that let's him reach that, but he needs to work for it.

I reckon he'll get 5 years at a million per year. I don't think he has shown that he is worth that contract so this year is a big year for him.

As good as Richo is as an administrator I really believe this deal will be a bridge to far.Its inconceivable that the vermin Isaac Moses doesn’t let this go to Nov 1.Brown isnt a patch on Galvin & IM knows it will be a piece of cake to attain more money for Galvin.
Interesting, but we would be in the mix and can offer the money now.
I think his parents will have a bearing on his decision.

I think us and every other team would be wise to ignore the brown contract when negotiating.

While I've got a higher opinion of Galvin's talent than others on the forum, there no way he should be getting $1.3 mil a year.

I'd probs offer $2.7 mil over 3 years. Maybe throw in an incentive if we can make a GF in that time.

If Moses says "well Newcastle paid $1.3mil for brown." We say "they made a horrible mistake."

If he were to leave, I'd be offering that 2.7 to fletcher Sharpe.

After watching Parramatta's effort last week it would be hard to sign on with them knowing they are in a world of hurt and are going to struggle until they can rebuild. The WT on the other hand have finally turned the corner and are on the way up.

I do agree, but they need to give him a path to riches otherwise another club will just come in behind us.
I know he's only 19, but I believe his talent is untapped and could easily be a future superstar.
And we have a chance to become a powerhouse in the competition for many years to come, as we have everything else in place.

What do you reckon we should pay him and for how long do you think TM?

No doubts he's showing a hell of a lot and I want to keep him

I don't think we should just hand him a bag full of money, he's only 19, but I think 5 years, plus his 2 years left to go, with a stepped contract each year based on incentives, something like starting at $7-800K, where after a few years, he would be close or over that magic million+ mark.
Him and Luai I believe would take us to the promised land.
Bearing in mind, we have the money atm, with Klemmer and (possibly) Olam's money.
Though I don't know what they will offer Taylan?
Plus, remembering, we may need to keep Bud from next year?
But there are a lot of Contracted players who will not make it, so there would be some cap relief there, by bringing up some cheaper players for development.
Anyway, it will be a tough challenge, so a lot will depend on our results this year.

we also need to factor in Bula. Didn't it come out that he had some contract structure that we had to pay him 900K to keep him until 27 and if we pay him less he is a free agent after 26? Or something like that.

Either way if he reaches his potential he is another high value player we will need to accommodate in the next couple of years.

Us being WT's id prepare for the worst case scenario.. but one positive if i can find one is perhaps Benji and Lui's influence. Both had stayed loyal to a club and the success and money came down the track ,not to mention life after league in Beni's case . It was a commitment and challenge for the future and not just an immediate gain.
