You don't punish blokes for playing injured. Yes he was poor but those defensive decisions were fine.
Wow. Decisions were smart, but just poorly executed by Waqa then?

And what injury did Waqa play with, other than mental deficit...
Or do you think wingers score the most tries because they are being marked by wingers?
No, but I can see someone who's defensive errors mean they can't continue to hold their spot long term.

Just my two bobs worth from yesterday. Contrary to many I thought Moses was outstanding. So tough in D and tried his guts out all game. Dyl was much improved. He looked fitter. Carty has surprised me. Hes going ok. Hopgood will get even better but his continual backing into the defence may cause him problems. Reg and Jnr were fantastic although Reg looked exhausted from around the 30 min mark.
Our attack looks different for sure. Lots of bodies in motion. Good signs but with players like Waqa, Bailey and Mommamia stinking things up it looked much worse than it was. I cant think of a worse performance from an Eel than yesterday by Waqa.
Hodgson hasnt impressed me as yet but its early days and hes all we have due to very poor recruiting. Im thinking BA wants him to be a clone of Rheed.
So many opportunities to ice that game yesterday but a combination of below average players and absolute rubbish defence was way too big a hurdle to overcome. Not sure where we got our new D Coach from but early signs are far from promising.
I predicted we'd finish 9th this year being post World Cup, The Matto drama, The Mitch drama, selecting new assistants that clearly nobody else wanted and a potential GF hangover plus the loss of some very solid players. Gee I hope we improve on that.
Next week is a huge game. The pressure will be on if we perform poorly once more. TLT will fire a few up when Waqa retains his spot. Lol.
Im glad its an away game. 70 points leaked by our two teams dranined me somewhat yesterday. Onwards and upwards.

So many concerns with this game. Interchange is rubbish.

Realistically we should front up tonight at Home and put the Sharks to the sword, similar to the way Panthers did to Souths last night. But will we?

I can see the game going something like this:
- We start off well, but the moment our two front rowers go off we lose our way
- Sharks come back whilst our shit interchange players are on the field
- We get f**k all field position from our back five
- Our attack is again disjointed and clunky
- We have to bring our starting middles back on too soon to stem the flow
- By the end of the game, because Hopgood and Hodgson have to play 80 and RCG and Junior too many minutes, we once again are fatigued at the back end of the game.
- We once again go down in a close contest.
Holy shit bro, pretty much nailed it. Only the wild card of Ramien being absolute dogshit nearly ruined it.

Who let in all those tries on our left edge? Carty or wonga
I think Dylan also needs some blame. He stands between them.

To waqa's credit he was actually sticking with his man ... which is what we have all wanted him to do for years .... had he come in they just pass outside and then we all explode on him.

Maybe carty turned in too soon, then drown had to do the same???

Interesting statistic so far this season, no team has won a game this season without their forward interchanges playing at least 80 minutes. Our forward interchanges totalled 57 tonight.

Also, no team has won a game without using all 4 interchange players, with player 17 playing at least 8 minutes.
Sharks used 3 interchange players but the did play 98 minutes.

Why did we need to have a drama with Mitch though.

It was so avoidable and just reinforces the tail is wagging the dog with this joint.
Exactly and thus my concern. Lets see how Hopgood plays out. Now is the time to start talks with him. But will we? Have we learned? We should also be telling Mommamia he hasnt worked out as BA expected and look to shuffle him off to Super League immediately. Diamond in the rough. I think not but as always i remain hopeful.

Blame whoever. They had us shot to bits. They score regardless.
