Brynden Tully
Uncle to Catelyn Stark. With Edmure Tully in a frey jail cell he is currently head of house Tully, long time lords of riverrun and the riverlands. In the show he is only seen during season 3. In the books he is considered a good fighter, well respected, a smart operator. He is one of Robb starks most trusted men and advisor.

Edmure Tully comes across as a bit of a goof correct? When Catalyn's father died and they pushed the body out into the water Edmure was the guy who kept trying to shoot a flamed arrow onto the body and missed, Brynden got the shits and pushed him out of the way

+ 1, Hope the red head does it.
Oh geez that'd be fantastic!
And cersie and jamie aren't?
He has every right to be smug, he has risen to be one of the most powerful men in westoros without a famous name or a big army, he is standing up for the small folk, who's lives are being destroyed while the highborn play their games. He has done it all through his own intelligence.
Uh no he's using that as his reasoning, he's no different just more manipulative and anway the f**k you defending the sparrow for?
Also he's got no personality and actually the most realistic villain in the entire series.
Sit down in any church and you'll find one exactly like him.

I was expecting Sam's dad to try and rape Gilly after learning she's a wildling and for Sam to kill him in the act.

A plot question - if the Nights Watch march South enmasse and join John's army to go against the Night's King, are they effectively disbanded (they are leaving the Wall and their forsworn duty to defend it) and Sam is free to become Lord of Horn Hill if he does shaft his father? And by shaft I mean kill.

Chook.

Is he a villian?
I don't think you can compare him to the real world church mob. He is unbribeable, he treats all equal regardless of birth. Might be because he their is more detail of him in the books, but he came from the riverlands carrying the bones of septons slaughtered in the war and speaks out against the destruction the war has caused. He speaks out against the 'highborn' having Power over everything which makes him popular amongst the small folk. When he gets into his position as high septon he sells of all the churches gold and jewels to help feed the poor. He's main target seems to be the lannisters, particularly cersei, who are by far the most evil people in Westoros.

Wouldn?t make much sense for the Nights Watch to march South to fight the Nights King when he is North of the wall. Regardless, the Nights Watch won?t join Jon because they don?t get involved in the affairs of the Seven Kingdoms. Plus Jon is focussed on Winterfell right now not the White Walkers.

They'll need to march South as Benjen said, "when the Night's King gets into the lands of men", meaning he'll be South of the Wall.

And John Snow said "to fight the White Walkers we need Winterfell and to get Winterfell we need more men".

The fight with the Night's King will be South of the Wall. No Westeros army is going to march North without good reason...hearing that the entire Night's Watch (all 100 of them) is marching South would be a pretty good reason?

I may have missed this, but is there some sort of magical protection stopping the White Walkers from simply climbing up and over the wall? Or is it just a physical limitation?

Just seems strange

100% it's only a physical barrier. If it was a magical one it wouldn't need to be that high, see entrance to the three eye'd crow's tree house.

There is a bit of magic involved with the wall from memory. Bran the builder needed some magic to build it or something

Also, the purpose of the wall is a mystery as well.

It is actually a magical barrier that the white walkers can't pass.

The height is to keep the wildlings out.

There is a horn that Mance claimed to have (but didn't) that could bring down the wall. It is said that the nights king has the horn (might be the horn that Sam found at the fist.

Bran has been marked by the White Walkers when he grabbed his arm. Theory is IF Bran goes South, the white walkers will be able to follow because of that.

Let's remember though this is ASOFAI, he will have an agenda that is yet to be shown.
Nevertheless he irritates me, the whole 'I'm down to earth just like you' to me is fake and we will see what comes of it.

I don't particularly like old men in rags, I hate Pycelle as well.

Yep that was the theory I heard, hence my question

That would mean the Night's King magic cannot work South of the wall, which it can as the two Night's Watch guards turned while in Castle Black.

It?s never been explained. But there?s theories that it?s because Nights Watch brought them in. True Blood rules I guess.

I suppose we?ll find out soon enough. But I suspect that if the WW could get past the wall they would have done so already.

It's just the Night King, guys. Not Night's King.

I'm also one of the ones who want someone to crush the High Sparrow's head in. Hope it's one of the best character's of the whole series, Cersei, but don't think it will be.

Looking forward to the trial by combat though, if the Sparrow's fighter is who we think it is.
