Targaryans have been rooting each other for 100s of years. They were supposed to marry brother and sister. In fact Dany had always assumed she would just end up marrying her brother.

I would have to go back and watch season 4 but did Oberyn mention the name of Rhaegars kids ? Because in the books his eldest son is called Aegon. Seems weird that he named both his sons Aegon. That would get confusing at Christmas

Yeah marrying brother and sister is uncommon but westeros is pretty inbred.

Tywin was married to his first cousin. In the books Lysa pitches the idea that Sansa will marry Robyn. The north is especially inbred.

Marrying cousins is still legal, marrying your aunt not so much.
I don't think there's a great deal of risk marrying your cousin (apart from it being weird as f**k), the problems seem to arise in communities that have generations of cousins marrying cousins.

Oh absolutely and she's a relic of a different time when cousin f**king wasn't frowned upon, I'm guessing their chance of incest related child defects was less than 5%
