Overall hard to gauge this season.
Felt the pacing wasn't as great as previous seasons.
THAT SAID

I think its a victim of its own successes.
Stand alone, season 5 was great! Best hour of TV in the week hands down.
Put next to the other seasons though and I thought it didn't stand up quite as well.

Thought it was quite annoying the last episode though, as it raised a heap load more questions than it needed to.
Reek/Sansa - did they survive?
Stannis - Is he alive?
Jon - is it really the end for him?
Mrycella - is she a goner?

I'd say Reek, Sansa and Stannis are alive.
Jon is dead...for now.I'm a believer that the red woman will bring him back someway
Mycella is probably a goner. With Jamie going back to Kings Landing, I can see the Mountain clearing house of the high sparrows, then a trip back to Dorne for that sweet revenge.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see the Hound re-appear sometime as well.

What will happen to the wildlings now Jon is dead?

On characters we havn't seen for a while - what about Roberts bastard? Edmure Tully? I'm hoping we go back to the Freys and see whats going on

Not the strongest season. I still enjoyed it but I agree that some episodes dragged and nothing much happened until the last 3 eps. They seem to be spending too much time on the uninteresting storylines and characters (samwell, the martells, even dany's storyline has become a bit boring) to fill up space and not enough time on the ones i want to see (jon snow, Sansa & reek, stannis). Oh well, now we have to wait another f**king 10 months.

Plus Rickon & Osha and obviously Bran, Hodor & Myra

This season was probably the weakest but I thought the back half of it was awesome. Probably should have drawn the content of it out though. The last episode was a little rushed but it was beast.

I got pissed that I was spoiled Jon's death but after seeing it, it's pretty much a given he's still alive. As is Stannis and Sansa/Reek.

I almost felt bad for Stannis and Cersei though, then I remembered they're right c**ks.

cersei's walk of shame was brutal. Nice tits and arse and all but that would have been worse than torture for her.

Stannis' story is quite a tragic one. He had complete faith in the red woman and in return lost everything.

IMO he is dead. his story is finished. be careful what you believe in.

His beard would only take about a month to grow back.

Probably just shaved it off for whatever movie he will be on. And to get rid of the aftertaste of all the poontang he's eating.

Jorah jumped in a saved him, & Daenerys was surrounded by her men.

Are you dumb?

If he's dumb for questioning that nonsense then so is the whole f**king world because everyone was left scratching their heads at that shit and you couldn't find a forum where non book readers were not left wondering wtf.

It's a very common problem with this show, these dumb asses just skip blatantly necessary scenes. Another recent one is Jon returning from Hardhome. There had to be a scene of Jon explaining to the watch what he just saw with his brothers that were there and the wildlings to back him up, because that's exactly what would immediately happen. But the scene inexplicably never happens, instead we get Jon whispering to Sam about what he saw in a few lines tacked onto the Sam to Oldtown scene.

Necessary scenes, shit that requires explanation or foundation are just ignored, meanwhile other points get unnecessarily hammered home. It's basic poor storytelling, and it's going to become a real problem next season when no-one can be sure what they were trying to portray because no-one has read it previously.

You needed to read the book to figure out what happened in those scenes?

Them powers of deduction...... Hundreds of shows skip the big explanation. You need to be told what you already know? Then people will complain 'zomg there's been no shock death or epic fight scene in this episode, this show is sooooo boring, nothing has happened, just a whole bunch of talking & stuff.....'

If you need to nit pick that much, you're just ruining the show for yourself.

Yes I need some sembelance of coherency in the story and characters to create a reasonable narrative, as does the rest of the world if their reactions are anything to go by. That way audiences would have been marvelling at the story instead of being left confused, the most common reaction to the KL story is how are the Faith able to do this, because it was never adequately established the power base the HS has relative to the crown. It should have been apparent to someone putting together the show, they're just sloppy.

Stannis did a very merkin thing, but I still don't think he's a merkin. Cersei is though
I just don't get why people ever liked Stannis, to me he's a douche and I wasn't the least bit surprised when he burned Shireen.

Lol when you refer to them as dumbasses I wonder why you watch the show, like if they irk you that much.

I get what you mean about hardhome, I noticed that but unfortunately they can't fit everything in and took some gambles.
I feel like the season was exactly the same as the books it adapted, I loved some parts and loathed others.

They are dumb asses, it's a good description, they create dumb ass problems that don't exist anywhere else in TV, for example where else does a show have to explain the next day that the rape scene in last night's episode wasn't supposed to be a rape scene?

I love Stannis, especially in the books. And I know he's a merkin.

His black and white view of the world, and his dryness make him hilarious, though probably not intentional.

Tyrion and Stannis are the only ones to make laugh in the book.

Seriously, it is petty nitpicking...who thinks about that shit?! If you insist that you must be disappointed and angry, then you can find any problem with a great show to bitch about.

How have you not laughed at the Hound?
I like Stephen Dillane's portrayal of Stannis, he was particularly great in the finale.

It's ridiculous, and actually trendy as a book reader to insult the hell out of and bag the show.
I am an uber ASOFAI fan so I read the forums for theories but the crap I have to wade through. I don't get why they watch it, some actually feel inclined to comment despite not actually viewing any of the series:lol:

I'm a huge HG buff and HG book readers love the movies, there's stuff we would have liked in it but I've never seen such petulance as with the ASOFAI book series and it's fans.
I mean, do these fans realise what could have happened? Have they seen what TV has done to "Under the dome"?
