From the trailer all of that flashback looks like it's from the first book when eddard is remembering that day while he is locked away in the dungeon. Only thing we don't know about the tower of joy is what eddard promised Lyanna so hopefully we get that, the flashback would also be a great way to introduce howland reed inti the series in both the past and the present. Looks like their going to make us a wait a fair way into the season to find out whether Jon is truly dead or not but since we are getting that flash back my money his on him coming back otherwise the tower of joy is meaningless.

I actually think they'll resurrect Jon Snow in episode 1, 2 at the latest. Two reasons why:

1. He will lead the Starks/Wildlings army in Battle of the Bastards. Before that happens presumably in episode 9, I think they need him alive for a bit of time before that happens, in terms of the build-up to it.

2. They'll bring him back early to keep all the casual fans watching.

I originally thought he would return early in the season but the trailer has me thinking they may string it out all season long. Originally I thought episode 4 or 6 he would return as something big usually happens in those episodes that begins an arch that culminates in episode 9 so Jon coming back and building towards a confrontation with the Boltons makes sense.

Yeah ep 4-6 is defo a possibility, but, you just wonder how long Ser Davos and co will be able to hide his body from the Night's Watch mutineers wanting to burn it, and 4-6 episodes might be a bit of a stretch.
