Difference these days (post 1980s) is that they all now get paid (very well) for it as a full time job, and we all pay out for it in the interest of our tribal emotions and passion.

It's an economic imbalance between the two elements.

They're basically mercenaries, out to get paid as much as possible, as quickly as possible.

But it still pisses me off.

Hopgood threw that intercept, and was furious that himself - good! He gives a shit.

Gutherson tried everything he could to win us the game, on both sides of the ball - good! He gives a shit.

Our over-rated, over-paid show pony halfback has STILL not settled his future, and keeps making stupid mistakes (while asking for a big pay day) - he doesn't give a shit.

Yeah that’s pretty much where I’m at. Moses is a quality half and completely outplayed DCE. However, his goal
Kicking is costing us. If someone else was kicking there’d be no debate on how well he played tonight. We need to find a goal kicker to bring into the top 30 though as I also don’t want to rely on Gutho.

Bryce was outstanding. When Lane is back he has to stay in the side. Doorey to the bench.

Hopgood I like but he misses to many tackles and that must be addressed. Matto is superior and I think gets 60mins at lock.
Murchie and Moimesea I am finding hard to like. Makatoa looks better tbh.

He wasn't awful, or anything - but made several poor choices.

DCE didn't do much outside of the 40/20 kick that led to Parker try.

Schuster set up 2 tries with his kicks in 2nd half along with the intercept.

DCE stood there and watch gutho score his 1st try and didn't really do much else.

One thing that will probably get overlooked given the loss, but that was an all-time performance from Gutherson. We win that and it’s a performance that would be remembered for a long time. Felt like he pretty much single-handedly kept us in the game. And as amazing a player as Turbo is, his defence cost them a couple of tries, whereas Gutho saved one that he had absolutely no right in the world to do.

He was yelling at his troops, pointing, getting them into the right spots.

Moses was relatively quiet in comparison.

For mine he is just as bad as Matterson allowing this contract shit of his to linger. We need to get rid of our 2 dickheads. Combined they are on close to $1.9m.

I'm happy for the club to go in another direction. I'd actually release both of them now. The season is gone anyway.
