Replay of the game on at 930am on fox.
Think I will watch the first half then turn the tele off and head out for the day, humming a little tune in my head, oh when the saints........

Already noted that two trys to the Cowboys were those things that really bust both players and supporters. A gubber kick through which richocheted off our player back away from our players covering its direction to the other side of the field where the cowboys forward was following through. A bomb went up and hands everywhere bumping and striking Mc Donald!s catch and it landed fortunately down to a cowboy. Who knows what happens that's why it's a Hail Mary.

Actually kicks and fortunate bounces of the ball were the cowboys rub of green which kept them in it including a handy 5 to 1 count in penalties in second half.

Yes when the Dragons score off these types of kick and hope for a good bounce, ricochet or hands and pushing everywhere Hail Mary trys I cheer too. That's footy.

As Mary would say in the press conference last year.....They scored off a kick...or in this case they scored off two kicks lol....

I said a few weeks back that Perenara was the worst ref in the NRL. Some of those second half decisions were just terrible. The Cowboys pretty much had the ball the entire 2nd half and credit to them, they didn't give up and momentum is a very hard thing to stop particularly when the ref is gifting them so much ball. Add a few brains brainsnaps (packer passing off a dropout when we should have been running down the middle and setting up for a field goal) and that was a half to forget. Still the 2016 Dragons would have found a way to lose that one in the last 5 minutes. Take the 2 points and run I say.

Great game by the boys, well prepared and ripped into 'em in the first half. Best we've seen in a long, long time.

I could have done without the scare in the second half.

Hope that was our inevitable bad run they had to have in the second half and gives the boys some incentive for next round. I think the next 10 days at training will be far more productive than it would have been if we'd put a big score on them in the second half. Roosters will be looking to mirror the Cows second half so I'm sure the boys will be working on that over the next 10 days.

They ended up holding on which in itself should be applauded.

The Duges is back, so I'd bump Milne to 21 and give him some game time. But who gets dropped from the 13 ? Mann, Aitken, McDonald ? On efffort neither should be dropped. Attack wise, I'd probably 'rest' McDonald. Defence wise I'd probably be 'resting' Aitken or McDonald to no 17.

Interesting dilemna that most clubs would envy.

I woke up this morning and checked the ladder. Still coming first.

It's one poor half of football underpinned by:
Unforced errors(which can be eradicated),
Some poor game management(which can be fixed)
Soft defence by Aitken & McDonald(replacements exist if need be)
A couple of dodgy ref calls(we have had a few go our way this year)

Rome is not burning.

Mann has to go in for Aitken, I'm over his rushing up & leaving Nene stranded. Mann's defence has been impeccable With better footwork/hands. Just wishful thinking as I know this won't happen.

Slippery5 the more I see of Mann the more I like . He is a very good footballer and should be there playing every week ..... Cant believe we have him at the club and we could loose him .

Im in 2 minds after last nights game ....firstly as some have pointed out on here even though we had a poor 2nd half for what ever reason,we still hung in there and unlike other years ended up with the points ....and hopefully learnt from it....
And secondly I hope it doesnt have a negative effect on the team and confidence slips as a result of the final scoreline.....just my thoughts today

The Cowboys' first try was scored in the same manner as you have described but it wasn't Aitken who was guilty of "rushing up", it was MacDonald.

Once again, we saw another average display from someone built like Goliath only to play like a choir boy.

Hopefully it steels them for their challenges ahead. Not many of our guys knows what's it like to have a 24 point lead, clearly it's uncharted waters for most of the team.

Don't think winning by 50 would do anyone any good. Team still needs to improve, so hopefully that 2nd half gives them a kick in the backside given all they have heard is praise all season.

I think when the roosters watch our game at training this week they'll be completely and utterly confused - masterstroke From Mary !

I think we need to get the below key players signed or released asap or it will start destabilising us as the year rolls on.. We only need another 7 wins from the remaining 19 games to make the top 8 assuming 30 points is sufficient . (Count the 2 byes as points) so we are looking like a shoe in for the 8 already ...lets not ruin this fabulous team morale and momentum we have due to ineffective negotiating .. Start closing off players one by one..

Have to disagree, just watched replay, the kick was put in behind the defence line from 4mtrs out, they were caught short out to the left but unless you want Nene to stand in goal but he was definitely behind / inline with Aitken. I thought there first half they had better communication & wasn't until panic mode set into Aitken ,that McDonald's hand had to save him. Even Aitken shook his head in frustration for what nearly won it for the Cows.

The decision with Mann catching the ball clean and then a drop out called pathetic.

Mann tries to get to his feet and his pushed down and its a knock on pathetic.

The so called high tackle penalty on Ah Mau pathetic.

The penalty for the cowboys when whoever it was just didn't play the ball correctly pathetic.

The penalty on Frizzel for a high tackle pathetic.

All in all Perenara isn't a refs arsehole.

I agree, but gee he made some good runs. He is like another front rower at times.
