I'm pro vaccine, fully vaccinated, get the flu shot every year (a short hospital stay after contracting actual flu about 7 years ago made me realise the REAL flu is f**ked, not just another cold) but also against short notice strict panic lockdowns for a handful of cases. Government has had 18 months to improve intensive care units and they've chosen the easier and cheaper option of f**king citizens and private business instead...

Does being pro vaccine and anti lock down make me the black KKK member of this arguement?
I'll be anti lockdown after we achieve 70% or more, basically if you get it then, you might still die but your chances are extremely low and mitigated by other factors. The point here is that the health system wont be nearly as stretched as it would now in our current vulnerable situation.

I'm an essential worker also as of 3 months ago so I'm going into work today and I get what snout has posted so I tend to let the madness/confusion amongst people I know roll along, considering they are getting f**ked over more than I. What really f**king grinds my gears though is the same people whinging about lockdown and being anti vax at the same time.. FFS idiot, buy a clue!!

I hear you Ozzi. I don't think the three-day lockdown is going to cut it.
It would not surprise me in the least to see it extended until at least the end of next week.

I
I’m predicting QLD to get worse… the NRL will be lucky to not be stopped altogether.
I think you’re right…

We’ve farted around with blocking people from getting the vaccine for months.

I’ve been to EMPTY vaccine clinics and been sent away.

They’re happy for people to line up for hours to get tested but send people wanting to be vaccinated away from clinics with 4 admin staff twiddling their thumbs because we don’t fit the right demographic.

You have a greater chance of a condom not working than actually ending up dead from corona
I think you’re suggesting that both scenarios are risks worth taking. I’m not sure of the facts that you are asserting but in this comparison - a failed condom, which Is a self-imposed risk taking scenario, potentially results in an unwanted birth which can be mitigated by subsequent decisions over a known timeframe whereas a COVID infection, which is a random, anonymous, other-imposed, involuntary risk exposure, potentially leads to death over an uncertain timeframe. Risk of COVID infection can be greatly reduced by vaccination. So, please get vaccinated and have safe sex using quality condoms and the world will thank you for it.

Yep Cools - will def go longer than Tuesday.
The big one is EKKA.
She wouldve called a week lockdown but for that. They won't risk people from the country coming into the city and taking it back so l think she will can it for the 2nd year - or maybe push it back. They've already canned a cattle thing which was on today for that exact reason.
And if they called EKKA off it will be a fortnite lockdown.

The footy should be okay as long as they follow the level 4 protocols. PVL will take it to Darwin otherwise but the show has to roll on. They can't lose the product or they lose the money.
The GF might be played in Broome.

They can trace this latest outbreak to 2 people flying in from OS. So us residents and workers and business owners who live here are all disadvantaged - every one of us - hundreds of thousands - because of 2 people flying in?!?!?
Shut the forking borders.
If you have to leave great...don't come back.

10 days (so far), EKKA cancelled. Was always going to be the case.

I’m pleased to have been fully vaccinated for your protection. Unfortunately I don’t supply condoms so I can’t help you with that.

You’re probably right and also very lucky it seems that the selfish / misinformed / cowardly / loony and much smaller genuinely can’t be vaxed in total will come under 30%. Phew.
Let’s hope you can still travel and go to restaurants and stuff next year.

My 2nd shot this Thursday. I hope those who aren’t vaccinated are not allowed to do the things that vaccinated people are.

Don’t @ me for that comment. Do your bit.

We’re being held to ransom by the big pharmaceutical companies and the corrupt Governments.
They’re denying the use of Ivermectin which can be used as a preventative and treatment for Covid. It can also be used when someone has a bad reaction to the vaccine. But since it’s so cheap and has no patents the corrupt governments aren’t allowing the distribution of this medicine.
There is a good Joe Rogan podcast talking to two doctors about Ivermectin. Also the last podcast of the lotus eaters number 186 they talk about Ivermectin and also the Pfizer contracts that a member of the Albanian government leaked out.
What a complete crock of shite. That's up there with Thick Headed Sharks' lefty agenda Q crap.
Ivermectin IS NOT AUTHORISED AS A TREATMENT FOR COVID. SIMPLE.
Vaccines have been granted Emergency Use for COVID 19 prevention. Simple.
Whether Ivermectin is authorised in the future is being studied. Vaccines are available NOW as a safe treatment.
Get off the Craig Kelly MP/ Alan Jones/ Sky News Twitter pages. They have their own agendas, and it has NOTHING to do with stomping out COVID.
Hells donkeys.

I tell you what. Either vaxxed or not, if they start to segregate places I will not venture into them, including the football.
They are reporting that they will not let people into any sport event, including the NRL, unless you have your 'papers'. That will be it for me. I will not renew my membership and not watch the sport at all.
No big loss to me.
The fact they are using this view as 'protection' to other people is the biggest load of horse shit. If you have had the vaccine you are relatively protected from the thing, if someone has chosen to not be vaccinated they put themselves at risk, and are willingly open to that, it is their choice that they could be at risk.
I hear/see segregation mentioned and I see apartheid.
I am not cool with that at all.
The fact some are welcoming it so easily makes me sad.

How many of these moronic anti-vaxxers are out there utilising drugs cooked up in a backyard somewhere?
How many have tattoos' injecting ink under their skin.
How many have eaten a McChicken or a Hot Dog before, and suddenly they're worried about the ingredients in a vaccine???
Get out there. DO your bit for yourselves and others in the society. It's not hard at all.

(ps It just gives me the Dragons that people out there are waving placards at a virus, helping it spread along, and believing conspiracy theories completely absent from factual evidence. I'll calm down now.)

Vaccine passports were always likely after COVID took off for overseas travel anyway. For almost anything else, they would be a bit of overkill.
Anyone travelling from a Yellow Fever country (The Africa's for example) have been required for years to provide proof of vaccination for Yellow Fever. They've been around for years.

Start putting some restrictions on them on what they can and can't do and watch how their convictions melt away as well. Same thing happened when they bought in no jab no play.

What has that got to do with segregation in this country???
