matthew johns was saying gasnier should move to fullback, i reckon he should move to lock and could play a similiar role to sbw with his pace, strength power footwork and offloads to do more damage infield

Given that Sonny Bill Williams' exploits in the Bulldogs back row are massively over-hyped and Gasnier's a perennial underacheiver in his favoured position, I'm inclined to agree with Nosir'rom Na'ed.

The problem with the Dragons is simple; Brown uses all of them as forwards and has every member of the 17 lumbering into motion. Although this can wear down opposing teams, it doesn't work if the team they're up against can maintain possession and/or score quickly.

Brown needs a new game plan.

gasniers problem is that he only gets to touch the ball from dummy half. soward and chase either run or kick the ball.

benny or nightingale are the only two players i see capable of playing fullback for the dragons i like to see nightingale given a chance at fullback might not be the tallest but the kid can defend and is pretty good under the high ball he has a sharp turn off foot that will make him a very competent fullback he would be my ideal fullback at the dragons only downfall would be where to put benny hornby.I have posted earlier that hes too predictable on the wing but wasnt been critical of him he has speed to burn and can defend , but in the modern game most wingers are twice as big as him and rush up on him allowing him no room to move apart from line breaks. Just my opinion.

I remember everyone was complaining when Hodges moved to fullback..
but he was awesome there...

So why not give it a crack.

Justin Hodges was an Australian Schoolboys champion fullback. One of the reasons he left the Broncos the first time was because he wouldn't get a crack at fullback while Lockyer was around (ironically, Lockyer was originally a 5/8th and moved up not long after he left). Bennet believed Hodges would be a better Winger than anything else, but said that if he wanted a slot in the centres, he'd have to earn it.

Something tells me Gasnier isn't going to have a history like that.

He certainly doesn't have the skills to make a fist of any position other than Wing or Centre.

Don't move him to lock. Move him to the Broncos and someone might pass him the ball.

I'm liking the thought of a backline of Michaels, Hodges, Gasnier and Folou ...

Unlike Hodges, Gasnier is a one trick pony ... once you've worked out the shimmy/whoosh thing you've got his measure. Hodges knows more tricks than a dealer at the casino.

Hows about this for a crazy out there idea. Leave him in the centres and just give him the ball.

That would be the logical thing to do, yes.

Plus Gasnier and Cooper are players that like early ball - BEFORE the line - in order to utilise their footwork and strength.

At th moment, on the rare occasions they do touch the ball, they're being given no room to move.

I'm not even a Dragons fan but f**k they can be frustrating to watch at times.

No one in Brisbane complained about that. The only ones complaining were Newcastle, Bulldogs and Melbourne.

and yeah, its worth a crack having gasnier at fullback. They need to try something different.
