It can be given to players for a range of reasons. Hook gave it to Moylan because he thought it would help him grow into a leader.

Agreed, I find these reasons are based on position too. Generally less risk involved giving captaincy to a forward who will probably gain incentive to lead by example with strong runs and defence.

However some halves can find the extra responsibility cause to overplay their hand when it is not beneficial to the team.

Yeo (c) for me.

I just think there is an additional role for the captain in being a strong ambassador of the club off the field and on it with the refs. I don’t think Yeo fits the bill. Absolutely he should be a member of the leadership group. Merrin would be perfect if he was having a better year.

He also said he saw leadership qualities.

Forwards being named captain is dumb. Your 6, 7, 9 control the team it should be one of those. Otherwise you have someone ordering the captain around and that makes no sense.

might be looking too much into it but Yeo lost the captaincy to Maloney a few weeks ago.... coincidence?

Yeo should be C with RCG the VC or vice versa, moreso Yeo as he plays the full 80 and seems more level headed than RCG (RCG can lose his cool at times...)

Something clearly is up. The Fainu try v Manly. Whitehead and the James try are all tries he wouldn't let in at his best

Carrying an injury would be my guess. He has no place to complain about the captaincy, he was always just the stand in while Maloney was out. If Maloney is out again, he'll stand in once more.

He shouldn't be playing 80 mins then if injured

rotation is good for the squad and keeps everyone on their toes. CHN deserves a start IMO and I would put Yeo to left edge, CHN right edge and Kikau bench,

bring Kikau on for CHN and goes to left edge & move Yeo to right edge.

I know its boring football, but we should be taking the 2 on offer when it comes up, we had a chance in the 1st half when it was 6-6. its a good mental edge for the lads knowing they've got the lead back. the amount of errors we concede was diabolical, just stupid errors we made, just get back to basics and learn that you cant or don't need to score of every play possible
