Yeah 1 more strong year of Jimmy would be fantadtic. Then straight swap 1 expensive half for a cheap one and upgrade Cleary to big dog money.

Interesting that as soon as Souths and Dragons get a few injuries they start sliding. We’ve done bloody well to keep in this race with worse injuries than anybody top 4 or bottom 4, along with significant Origin disruption.

Dragons slide is not injury related. They start each season off sprinting. Looking great. But eventually they run out of steam and limp through the rest of the season.

This year they got far enough before losing steam to guarantee a finals appearance. So they did improve.

Storm had it about equal to us through origin so when you look at it we are actually almost on their level in this regard.

What's the odds that our game against them is for the minor premiership?

It's looking more and more likely every game. The teams we need to lose keep losing over the last week or so which continued last night.

This is why I haven't be too concerned over the quality of our wins. Just needed to keep ticking them over

That's sensible. Also a 38+ win would put us top 3 after this week. Big ask but there won't be a better chance then against the Knights.

100%.

To be where we are given the injury run we've had is a tremendous effort from everyone involved, which kinda makes the last couple of weeks even stranger.

It is why I was shocked with the events of the last few weeks. It does make you wonder where we would be IF all the coaches, Gus and Players were on the same page

Looking at this we have had the advantage of a favourable draw:

Notes:

  • This was as of Round 22

  • Every team is a pretender with the Panthers being the worst

  • Raiders are the only team without a win v Top 8

  • Totals at the bottom are v Top 8 and v Bottom 8

Ah yes the old easy draw claim

We've played 3 less games against top 8 teams than everyone but the Raiders. There is an element of soft draw. I think we deserve our spot but Imagine if we'd not had the terribly disrupted year. We'd be minor prems by now I think.
