We've played 3 less games against top 8 teams than everyone but the Raiders. There is an element of soft draw. I think we deserve our spot but Imagine if we'd not had the terribly disrupted year. We'd be minor prems by now I think.

My issue with these types of things are. Look at last year's positions of the teams. The draw didn't seem easy when it was announced.

Also we had our top spine for 2 and 1/2 games. Based on ladder positions alone doesn't allow for that type of thing

Of course. No one is saying the draw was planned to be softer before the season. If it was based on last year we'd have a pretty difficult draw. It's just Cows and Eels choking brought it down. That's where our extra 3 games against top 8 teams went. f**king chokers haha.

Edit: 4 games not 3.

Ah yes the old easy draw claim
Funnily enough it looked a fairly tough draw at the start. Manly, Cows, Parra, all finals sides last year, we had them all twice. There's an element of luck with the draw, no doubt about it and we've been lucky.

There is an element of luck with injuries too, and we haven't been quite so lucky with those. Is someone going to put up a nice colourful spreadsheet on injuries?

See my previous comment.

Nope that would mean we play Melbourne week 1 and we sure as f**k don't want that
I'd like it. We play Melbourne in our last game of the regular season. It's notoriously hard to beat a team twice in two weeks. No one has ever done it, remember last year when Manly slaughtered us and we came back to beat them? Better we play them with that advantage then latter in the finals. We'll almost definitely lose the first game and in the second we'll be a better team with Maloney 100% fit.

The long and short of it is that if we want to make the big one, it is likely we will have to beat the Storm. The Sharks did it, we can do it too.

That would require the Roosters to fall over. More likely we could be playing the Storm for 2nd place, which is just as good.
Well, they ply raiders away, donkeys at home and the eels away. All of those teams are capable of beating them and the eels have struck form...

I remember people commenting we had a difficult 1st 5 weeks up until we actually got to that stage.

Dragons and Souths would be top of that list I am sure
