Big David Fifita has been coping heat. He deserves a bit but the real issue is the Titans spine. I'd say its 70/30 blame with the spine.

I can understand the argument that Fifita needs to find the ball. But in the red zone that isn't his job. The Titans heavily favour the left edge in attack. Whenever Brimson wants it he gets it which leaves Fifita nowhere. Most of Fifita's best work ends up coming from dummy-half when he does it all himself.

His 1.2 million salary isn't creating much balanced criticism. Flanagan has called out the real problem but many others haven't.

If anything you're paying Fifita to do something in the red zone as opposed to a huge workload. Very similar to Kiks, from our 40m + is where he needs to get his hands on the ball every set, which he does for the most part.

But I agree his salary does influence mine/peoples opinions.

Exactly like Kikau in fact. And probably even better. Not right now but at their best I'd take Fifita.

It all starts with Brimson calling for the ball. It always goes left if he plays in the 6. Fifita spends more time in the 20 with his arms in the air with a WTF face than actually doing work.

If Jayden Campbell returns then Brimson will be in the 6 again. So Sexton and whoever they decide to play 9 need to work it out. If they can't then you have to move Fifita to the left side and put him next to Brimson.

That's what I was going to say. Put him on the left and run Fifita/Brimson like you we do Luai/Kikau. Most teams are left side dominant so it isn't an issue.

It's not just a Fifita problem. Look at Kevin Proctor, he started at right second row, played 45mins total, and had 1 run for 4m all game. Was exactly the same last year against us, Proctor didn't touch the ball in the first half.

There were also times last week that Fifita moved from his edge to the middle to go looking for the ball, and that's when they would push the ball to the right! I honestly don't think the Titans halves and hookers communicate enough - or they aren't being listened to.

Wouldn't be an issue if he was a $400-500k player, because in terms of stats, he's very similar to Liam Martin - and no-one is saying that Marto is having a shit year, or needs to get more involved etc. It's all about value for money, and working as a team. For a million bucks a year though, he absolutely needs to do more.

It does weaken the other side but honestly they need to fix it urgently. 1.2 million to not touch the ball in the red zone is ridiculous. At least on the left you know he is bound to get the ball or be an excellent decoy.

Playing him in the middle would be a bit of a waste but we did it well with TPJ. I don't like the centre option at all.

Brimson isn't a 6. That is the 1st problem then add their young spine

Put Fifita at a good team he carves up

David Fafita is free to negotiate with other sides from November 1. I’m sure there is at least one club who may be sniffing around if he doesn’t re-sign with the Titans. Won’t get his current $1.2million but what price premiership success and third party top ups.
