I just hold abuse of women to a higher level than you it seems. Also don't give him a free pass because he played football for Penrith

I'm not giving anyone a 'free pass'.

I'm also still waiting for you to answer this question....from your original rant. Why would women feel unsafe attending the footy at Penrith Park ?

All I've heard is bluster.

Because if he returns the club is openly supporting the sexual abuse of women. Is that the environment you want at the stadium?

Wait the media made him use the gf win to paint himself as a victim for the offence he committed?

No that's not what I said.

It was the mis- interpretation of lyrics by the media and their targeted campaign which forced the clubs hand.

May had come through a difficult 2 or 3 years. Yes it was of his own making. That still doesn't stop it from being hard.

Because May wasn't lying prostrate at the NRL's feet, sections of the media were uphappy.

Notice how De Belin's first interview after his aborted rape trial didn't have near the negative publicity that May's 3 lines on instagram did.

Double standards at play.

There was no misinterpretation, he wrote:

"“And the dirt that they threw on my name/turned to soil and I grew up out it/time for y’all to figure out what y’all gon’ do about it,”

On the picture relating to his court stuff.

He could've said or done anything but decided to bring the situation up and the dirt on his name was his own choosing.

Did you seriously take the time to drag up those lyrics ? Wow eee.
,
On numerous occassions I have given my view on this. I'm not doing it again. His coments were his opinion. It was not a criminal act.

Just remember your pedestal can get very cold, lonely, and wobbly, when your setting yourself as the game's moral police.

I also don't like the double standards within the game, how some players are seemingly welcomed back into the game with a fatted calf. Yet others like May sent to pregatory for the term of his natural alive (or so it appears)

May was welcomed back and given the opportunity to play in 2 grand finals so no double standards at all.

f**k them all

You would hope the culture has changed with the majority having kids now. It was 5 years ago.

that is away from the original point.
I'd back a zero tolerance for anyone found guilty of any crime.

The NRL wants to gives chances so we fans have to deal with it.

Some great points made here.

Ignore May. No one here can say double standards don't exist.
It is who you know in RL

I'm a firm believer in second chances. May had his and there was no double standards. He created a public image of no remorse which is what did him in the end.

If he re contextualised it to show his growth rather than about "haters" he would've been fine.

We don't know that do we though?

I don't remember seeing a single interview with him since. Maybe the club should of put out a puff piece.

The joys of being hated now is. Minor things get blown out of hand.

I think Teddy's squid games comment was worse then writing the passage to a song. Yet no outrage because of the contacts Roosters have in the media
