Last game we played a team that had beaten the Broncos and Manly in its previous two games. Both top 8 sides from last year. That wasn't a test? In Townsville we were expected to get hosed by a pack considered the benchmark but we breezed past them. That wasn't a test either? We also overcame the Rabbitohs who have since accounted for the Roosters and took the unbeaten Dragons to the wire. That wasn't a test either? We've lost Cleary, Mansour, DWZ, Blake and a host of others but still haven't been tested in 3 games against highly successful teams from last season?

So when does this test come, just so I'll know? Tigers round 11? Dragons the following week? Warriors in round 17 will really be a test, depending who we lose to Origin. What if we breeze past them, there won't be too many tests left? Storm in the last round maybe? Or maybe it isn't a test at all unless we fail it?
A real test is beating teams we are likely to face in the finals. Teams we will need to beat to win a premiership.

Which of the 5 teams we've beaten do you expect to stand between us snd a grand final appearance?

This is what happens now we are good. Can't bash hook so start on our 'soft' draw'
What happens is everyone has a sook when people mention that we have had the easiest run so far (which is a fact) and that we should be patient before getting carried away with things.

But no. Apparently being realistic about who we've beaten isn't acceptable. Hey we beat a team full of guys who the fans here say couldnt crack our bench... suddenly were red hot favorites for a premiership.

Honestly we're just putting things into perspective. Outside of the Cowboys game our roster has been much better than our opposition. And in the Cowboys case they have played poorly 6 weeks in a row. A round 1 win over Sharks followed by 5 losses. Not even Brandy bagging out Thurston on his form could fire them up

Last week 3 teams dropped out of the 8 replaced by 3 others. If GC beat us they would of been in the top 4 instead they lose and aren't even in the 8. It is too close to say for certain who is shit and not. So therefore too soon to assess a soft draw or not. Go back to your sooking we are good now and you can't bag everyone!

Im not sooking. Im being realistic. You're having a sook because some of us are being realistic about our draw so far.

We're a fringe top 8 side at absolute WORST. We're playing like a fringe top 4 side at the moment. Until we play premiership contenders we cant judge ourselves honestly.

Cowboys might bounce back. Scrspe into the 8 and we know what they're capable of if they do. But there's zero chance any of those other teams will be fighting for a premiership. At best they can hope to be eliminated week 1 of finalz. Hopefully not by us... as hopefully were in the top 4 sending someone to week 2 of finals.

We're not bagging the side out. We just arent handing them a premiership yet. Ffs.

Also - if the Titans win last week against us, they are level with us in 4th place.

Yep, but we won, so now they are considered “Shit”.

No. It would have been a good test until they lost their 3 best defencive players through injury. I think we win anyway.

Which means that the Storm, Roosters and Broncos must also be "shit" as they're on the same competition points.....:open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:

Oh Souths are shit, we beat Souths, so they must be shit.

I hope we don't lead the comp, then we'll never beat a team above us - we would really be a shit team then!

;)

People wonder why issues happen when this passive aggressive bashing of people happens.

Gold coast got screwed with injury otherwise they'd be a good judge. They really pushed us to begin with.

More so the article I was talking about. Such a stupid article so early

Back spasms for Arrow. Ribs for Peats, HIA Taylor all are caused by strong defence.

Yeah we have a rough pack. It's so good to watch. Even more so with not using all interchanges. That will be our biggest advantage against the top teams. If we ever need some extra punch in the middle when the opposition is tired we'll have an extra change we can make.

Outside of the Cowboys game our roster has been much better than our opposition.
They made the GF after team after team underestimated them. They were lucky to finish 8th. That is their standard. It does not surprise me that they are struggling.'

As to our draw, it has only been easy with hindsight. We all thought we had a pretty tough opening 10 games before a ball was kicked. Now it look like the tough part is towards the end.

Nobody is carrying on like we are premiership favourites.

What you are saying how ever, is floored, it’s just plain wrong.

You are suggesting that we can’t tell how good we are going until we beat teams with what you believe to have stronger rosters. That is wrong.

The only actual way to tell how good a team is going is to watch them play.

We are just getting a bit sick of you banging on about this “Top4” crap. It’s wrong, it’s an extremely narrow point of view and thankfully not the way our coaching staff would be looking at our performances.

Exactly the point. There was no way to know these teams would start so bad but they have so we have to wait to get an idea about our form against top quality opposition. Not a bad thing it's just how it's worked out. These wins are giving us some lessons and competition points while we are down on players.

Titans injuries kind of ruined that game a bit for their chances and looks like the sharks have the same issue.

The top 4 stuff is important because it's the best indicator of a teams premiership chances. No team has won from outside the top 4 in the NRL era.

last time the top 4 teams were 4 points clear after 6 rounds was 1995... None won the comp that year. It is a long year too soon just yet to worry about where teams sit

I am still not ruling out a Storm/Roosters GF especially if the injuries for us continue

Making the top 4 is important. That’s not what he’s crapping on about though.

The ability to beat top 4 teams is what achieves all this and reach for a prem which is the point mx is making. It's the difference between making the 8 and making the 4 and doing better than Parra last year who went out in straight sets.

He isn't handling us and Tamou going well

Bit unfair.

I mentioned us beating Manly last year when they were running 3rd as us beating a top 4 team. He was in the group to say it doesn't count as they finished 6th. Wouldn't that be the same in these cases? After round 25 we can judge the difficulty of the draw or is that just for when you want figures to bag the coach?

Bit unfair.

The ability to beat everyone, away from home or at home is what gets you a top 4 spot. It’s the NRL for pitty sake, no such thing as an easy game.
