Poor gypsy.

So desperate to stay relevant. Such a sad, little man (I’m assuming).

Poor, poor gypsy.
Sad would be posting in a league forum when my team is out of contention.

Mine is equal first I think bruh

Who is saying that it is a lower profile match? Sutton? A journalist?

Greenberg came out and said refs responsible for the massacre in the Cronulla game would be allocated games with their poor performances in mind, so for Sutton to be doing the Warriors is an insinuation by the NRL that the Titans/Warriors game is a lesser game given he was the head referee at the time

Just so you know... because this is kind of what i do...
Care of fox sports stat lab

The Sharks have had 497 tackles in the Opp 20, they've scored 60 tries in the season
Im going to do you a f**king favour, and assume EVERY TRY they've scored this year has been in the red zone...

which means had they been given a full, fresh set of six, on any of those plays, they had a 12% chance of scoring. That's assuming they have never once scored outside the red zone... obviously the more long range tries they've scored, the lower the odds go.

They also have a 76% completion rate for the season total... but broken down further 2,803 total runs for 201 errors.

there is a 12% chance they score from red zone on any given play, but a 7% chance on any given play that they make an error.
You really want to sit here and tell me the odds are in favour of the sharks scoring if given a fresh set of six?
Never said the odds were in their favour stat man. I did say they had a better chance of scoring than Rapana picking up a ball and running 90 metres though... which was your like for like comparison. Where’s your stats for that one.

I hope your employer never reads this...

Yeah- it’s a bit of a balls up really for them to even acknowledge that any first grade game is ‘lower profile’. They still want to sell tickets to these games, right? And get ratings?

Rugby League needs some leadership

Great point Mr Meth.

During the regular season the refs should get allocated games either randomly or based on time frames so they've got adequate rest and recovery times.

This should apply in the first week of the finals as well.

No problems with allocating the better performed refs for the bigger games after that.

Honestly, I don't have a real problem with getting Sutton- although I am not a fan...but there are not many refs that I am excited about at the moment anyway. It's just so bloody amateur to acknowledge that his appointment to our game is punitive.

Maybe Roy Masters was right when he said the NRL predetermined what club and fan bases need a premiership to keep the masses happy and the product interesting.

Yeah I really don’t go that deep down the rabbit hole. I just think the refs are incompetent and have their darlings for some reason.

I'm concerned that you were ever excited about referees mate...

I guess if you were a Queensland fan you might have loved the Grasshopper?

If that was the case you’d think they’d give the Warriors a leg up because from a commercial point of view giving them a premiership probably makes the most sense out of any side. Chalk another one up to NRL incompetence then, lol

Ha.

Probably more excited if they weren’t going to be a major factor

The merkin can’t see straight. How he is in the bunker is beyond me.

He also has pro Dragons / Bulldogs and anti Roosters biases to overcome

The f**ker hardly stands a chance of making a reasonable call with all that going on
No wonder he's in the bunker every week

I've never noticed him being pro dragons. I mean, I probably wouldn't since I'm a bit one eyed, but I always assumed he'd dislike us for moving him on

I still can't see anywhere that the NRL has said Titans v Warriors is a lower profile match. It's been said by journalists at the ABC, NRL.com and Tele (and probably Fairfax too), but at no point has Greenberg or Bernie Sutton been quoted as saying that, anywhere I can see?

The closest I can see is Greenberg's "You can take it as read that tomorrow's appointments will reflect some of that disappointment. There has to be accountability across all the board, including me. You can expect there will be accountability tomorrow." (LINK)

I don’t necessarily believe it is predetermined by the NRL but I would be lying if I didn’t think referees were influenced by the media, fan and performance (kpi) pressures.

They’re under a heap of pressure and human error will occur but the way in which the NRL go about creating accountability leaves a sour taste
