A) Is thought-provoking & intelligent.

B) Explores the consequences of scientific innovations.

From the sounds of it I don't think you've seen enough of the show to see how intelligent and thought provoking it was at times.

I also think simply by having it set in the future "explores the consequences of scientific innovations"

Plus, it is obviously sci-fi coz it's got robots and lasers that go pew-pew.
