Has Flanno got us a premiership yet?

How about a competitive side? Or even just entertaining?

Either of which would make Lyall's job a heap easier.

Has Flanno got any success on his resume?

Here's one you can answer yes to.

Has he dropped us in the poo by employing dodgy practices and ignoring anyone advising against it?

Tough one, luckily he wasn't employed on the basis of bringing sponsors or backing our drug cheat coach. That buys him time.

I'm pretty certain if flanno is a drug cheat then hasler must be one too but you'd have hasler Ina heartbeat.

I'm still perplexed as to why a "drug cheat" would get a three year extension.

And lyall is CEO his job is to get sponsors not do fluffy webcasts

I too have no idea why the drug cheat got 3 years. Probably the board covering something up. No other logical explanation really.

Lyall worked wonders with the Wanderers, Mariners and the A League. I think he knows what he is doing, and I am sure a couple of webcasts isn't detracting from his main job. Having the man forever linked to Asada at the helm might be impacting on the sponsorship front though.

Well if he's your idea of a successful coach enjoy the next few years.

With Flanno as a handicap I don't like Lyall's chances of landing a decent sponsor.

Boring, boring football.

Do you ever wonder why no coach no matter who it is can win a premiership here ?

Only two have got to grandfinals the last one 37 years ago

Yep. Thats what Gorman is attempting to change. He has a great record of getting his clubs to the pointy end of the season.

Either way it doesn't look good for anyone, Flanno go back to your performance review you haven't fulfilled your KPI's

Other teams will looking on and not thinking about if flano is at fault
They'd be more worried about Gordon spitting the dummy first time he gets moved from fullback ( again)
Reckon des or Bennett would be keen to sign a bloke like that?

He's 31. Des or Bennett wouldn't bother signing him in the first place.

Two years ago i would have been devastated. As others have said we are finally in a position where he isn't our best back any more, there are 2 or 3 already better and then we have a few blokes like Gagan that could be anything.

I like Flash but we will be fine without him.

Read the last paragraph in this article below with the quote from Gordon's manager when this first happened.

f**k off to the Eels for your sook!

No one is bigger than the club!

Cronulla's decision not to release Michael Gordon to play with Parramatta has hurt them in the hip pocket, with a club sponsor severing ties in protest over the treatment of the former NSW representative.

Fairfax Media can reveal One Solutions, the membership and chest sponsor of the Sharks, terminated its relationship with Cronulla on Thursday. Ironically, the company – which is also a personal sponsor of Gordon's – had previously backed the Eels, the club the fullback had hoped to join.

The Eels had earmarked Gordon as a replacement for NFL hopeful Jarryd Hayne and were poised to announce a mid-season transfer. The blue and golds believe they had been given permission from the Sharks to negotiate with Gordon and it is understood they have text messages to back their claim. It is understood the transfer was blocked at the last moment by Cronulla chief executive Lyall Gorman.

One Solutions – which provides lending, insurance, financial and property advice – tore up its contract with the Sharks due to a clause surrounding reputational damage suffered as a result of the Gordon affair. The firm was the club's major sponsor leading into the 2013 finals series and has an option in its favour for 2016.

The Sharks, still without a major sponsor, can ill afford to alienate the few they have on their books. Gorman and Cronulla chairman Damian Keogh have called a crisis meeting with One Solutions officials next week in a last-ditch attempt to resurrect the partnership.

Gordon has won consecutive Monty Porter Medals as the club's best and fairest, but the Sharks aren't prepared to sign him for next season. The Eels only want the 32-year-old if he shifts before the June 30 transfer deadline. The blue and golds want someone to slot straight into the No.1 jersey after the experiment with Will Hopoate at fullback failed.

Gordon would have been part of a player swap with Darcy Lussick, with the Sharks initiating the bid for the former Manly forward. However, the move unravelled when Lussick copped a four-week suspension for a high tackle.

Gordon's manager, Andrew Purcell, believes the hard-line stance could force his client into premature retirement.

"Yes, absolutely. Of course it could," Purcell said. "Which is why we have been so desperate to get this deal done. There are no guarantees for us anywhere. That's not to say that something won't happen, but it hasn't yet.

"He still has football left in him but the majority of the clubs have good fullbacks or they are blooding new ones. This is a unique opportunity for this kid to continue his football career over the next two years and there isn't another club where he can do that at this stage."

The Eels believe their long-term custodian is Bevan French, the teenager who made an impressive NSW Cup debut in Wentworthville's crushing 48-4 win over the Warriors. They view Gordon as the ideal man to mentor French and help him make the transition to the NRL.

While there has been a war of words between Parramatta and Cronulla over Gordon, Purcell is adamant he and his client have acted appropriately.

"He was absolutely given permission to negotiate, 100 per cent," Purcell said. "But he was not officially granted a release."

Sharks media release says he hasn't "walked out" but been given time off to sort some stuff.

He's apparently embarrassed by the talk of a walkout.

Please let him go, we don't need him.

Well the club has released a statement denying he has walked out..

Contrary to media reports which have appeared today Michael Gordon has not ?walked out? on the Cronulla Sharks.

In consultation with the Club early this morning Michael was given leave from training in order to address some personal matters. His non-attendance at training, which was an informal team activity at a nearby indoor sports centre, was not unexpected by the Cronulla club and coaching staff.

?Discussions with Michael this afternoon have confirmed that he is embarrassed by reports currently circulating that he has walked out on his contract at our Club,? Group CEO, Lyall Gorman, said.

The Club is committed to giving Michael every possible support to work through these personal matters and it is expected that he will be back in full training with the club early next week.
