Please mate, it's John Ribot De Bresac.

The merkin

TBH, he might be a super league f**k head but he was a great winger

I'll go Robbo, only because he scored a hat trick in a grand final then proceeded to helicopter his wang in the background of an interview after the 2008 GF

Nah, Merritt was shit, it was Ziggy Niszczot I was thinking of.. he actually played 2 origins and bagged 2 tries... Merritt did play just the 1, thankfully, and shat the bed.

You don't score 150 odd tries in first grade if you're shit. Especially when you consider the back lines he was on the end of at times...

In the early 2000's he was a gun player. By about 2010 though the game had changed to the point where he wasn't as effective anymore. Mainly because he was marking up against the likes of Vatuvei, Tuqiri, Sailor, Folau... Blokes who weren't quite as quick as Nathan but had about 10 - 15 kilos on him...

Plus the job of a winger evolved. It wasn't just about scoring a try anymore. You had to be making metres off hit ups and playing like an extra forward at times and of course, he had to tackle blokes that had 10 - 15 kilos on him as well.

Still, he was a great finisher.

I wouldn't call ET a specialist winger. I think he was more known for playing centre and fullback. He played mainly wing early in his career and for rep teams. The same can be said for Dale Shearer.
I base it mainly on his rep games where he was exceptional

Who is it?

And it has to be in your lifetime

Don't go saying Ken Irvine, or Johnny King or anyone like that. You didn't see them play. And if you did, you're old, & your opinion is worthless.

Oh yeah Brian Bevan for sure. I used to watch all his games he has to be considered the best. ;)

Seriously though I looked up the all the century team wingers out of interest and they were Ken Irvine and Brian Bevan. Bevan career started in 1942 and ended in 1964.

Someone on LU once claimed to have attended the 1948 Grand Final.

He'd be old and his opinion worthless.
A mate and I knew an old bloke in the 80s that claimed to have seen Dally Messenger's 75m field goal that is part of the legend of our game. He was old and his opinion was worthless.
