Time to put a figure on Birds payout for when he is cleared of all charges. How much will it cost the Sharks?
Nothing imo. The cops may not get up on the assault charge but there will be others which he will not beat imo. My opinion is based purely on what has been revealed in the press though but it appears quite obvious to me based on that information.

He will be charged for nothing with the exception of the prior charge which he was not even stood down for.
The pyaout will happen if he is sacked, no ifs , no buts.
Paywou WILL include
next years earnings & any backloading on his contract.
Loss of earnings this year.
Loss of potential earnings that may have been derived from the world cup.
Loss of potential earnings that the slur of being unlawfully sacked may contribute to.
On top of that there is a myriad of possible claims for the unlawful sacking.
I would expect upwards of at least $1mil in possible claims.

when the charges are dropped & he is fully cleared, I will be expecting that the Sharks do the right thing & re-instate him immediately.
Anything else, is unlawful.

hahaha

so katie will stand by her man, and his friends

'the' katie that originally told police , along with bird, that it was watson who was responsible

the same katie they refuses to give a statement to police, which if bird is so innocent of this wrong doing, why does she not exonerate him now and save the love of her life the legal costs and the personal trauma

why???

because katie would know who really harmed her!

why???

because there is too much evidence at this stage

why execute her love by not telling the truth - as some feel to think

i do feel remorse for the injuries she sustained - that i am genuine about

bird is a lair, he leaves a wake of trouble in his path going off the back of his history - "he reacts first, thinks later"

this time i for one hope he is dealt with for the alleged incident, at this stage

i for one loath men that take to women in violence - they are pathetic and weak individuals mentally

on another note, as for needing bird in the team to win a premiership - pfffft

maybe my morals are different to some, but i hope i never see him in our jersey again

Because

MYSTERY surrounds the deep gouges around Katie Milligan's left eye but one thing is certain: the bidding war for her story and that of the Sharks player accused of glassing her, Greg Bird, is on.
Paparazzi photos of the attractive 24-year-old New Yorker getting out of a car did the rounds yesterday. The Daily Telegraph snapped them up.
The images - which fetched $10,000 during a bidding war yesterday - show the extent of her injuries allegedly suffered during an incident at Bird's apartment on August 24 - and how close Milligan could have come to losing sight in one eye. Bird has pleaded not guilty to a charge of maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm. An apprehended violence order prevents him from speaking to his girlfriend. He has maintained his silence since the incident but it hasn't stopped media outlets from elbowing each other out of the way to try to tell his story.
Nine's 60 Minutes and A Current Affair have approached his management. So too has Seven's Today Tonight. There is also speculation that Brent Watson - the Hunter Valley golfer whom police allege Bird contacted to ask him to say he was involved - has been offered a whopping five-figure sum. Watson has not been charged with anything.

A 2009 scenario for you reefy.
Noddy's gone
Bird matter settled - beit lawfully sacked or re-instated or gone to GB...whatever
Barrett & Seymour proving to be a successful combo
Topou & Hughes stepping up
On & off field incidents to a minimum (aka Manly this year)

What are you gonna complain about????

Just in case, Paris gets injured in a trial and is out for the season...now what are you gonna complain about?

would not be surprised if the Dogs had a look at him either. He is a good fit there & he likes playing off Kimmorley.
The Dogs also back their players when they have legal dramas & follow the decisions of the courts.
it would be typical that the Sharks would be paying for 2 years worth of Greg Bird paymennts only to have him playing at the Dogs.

Genuine question reefy (not meant confrontationally).
Why would it be typical of the Sharks? Have they actually had to continue paying a player at another club? Who?
