Yes I know caylo but his tone pretty much confirms, and plus what he said with the "guys around Mortimer when he plays" that he will definitely be in the side. I think that is guaranteed.
Mate your reading something that not there, the guy around him means that where is plays depends on who is avaliable and his best position. Kearney tone didnt change much if it all and it was brought up by the reporter not him. He isn't going to come and and say yes he is or isnt in the team, that would be stupid tbh, he simply said that he is a 6 or 7 and it was a work in progress.
If Mortimer is in the team round 1 next year it will be because of the next 3 months not his first day on the job. ATM i still believe that Kearney will start with Humble and Robson (or Orford if signed) if form from last year continues into the trials.
I also expect kearney to try and play a similar role as he did with NZ so I would be looking at Mitchell off the bench and Maguir or MK to start depending on form (Mitchell the fast luke style player - I'm not comparing them just saying he is quick out of dumby half) and then look to finish tight games with an extra playmaker on (both halves, and both hookers).
I do honestly think that if Murray performs that he will be a chance, since breust has yet to play NYC i doubt he is a genuine chance. We could see any combination of Mortimer, Humble, Robson and Murray if Orford doesn't sign and I would say they are pretty much even money atm.
