Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

No surprises here, the Tigers are almost as scummy as Manly.

Yeah but at least our scumminess leads to premierships, which leads to more hatred, which leads to more premierships. It's a beautiful cycle.

If the dragons are too stupid to actually submit their contract with the NRL and have it confirmed, I don't see how the tigers can be blamed.

Moltzen has issues in "toughening up" but even he can tackle.

Laugh all you want, Lui has far more football ability than Moltzen has in his pinkie.

Moltzen is nothing more than a glorified ball runner. No creative ability, no kicking game and a hog. He also has no passing game and doesn't know the first thing about directing a team around the park, the guy is an individual player.

Lui at this stage of his career is a poor defender but will only improve - most young players have defensive issues earlier in their careers.

Sorry chump, but Lui ruined any chances he had at improving. I'll happily state that at the end of their respective careers (if Lui has one) that Moltzen will be regarded a lot higher than Lui.

Surely Lui will be sacked though? Quite a mixed bag of opinions on Moltzen, I don't think he's too bad but obviously plenty of improvement needed. I was hoping Moltzen would step up as our FB next season because he has massive shoes to fill. Darius might have looked disinterested half the time but he's our biggest loss by a long way imo

As I said I am talking about ON-FIELD only. Lui is a FAR better player than Moltzen who is a one trick pony that only brings speed to the table.

Miller will be far better than either of them.

Hybrids description of Moltzen is bang on. Lui is a far superior half back to Moltzen. It will be a real shame if WT keep him

That's what I meant. I think Moltzen still offers more.

I can't understand how anyone can come to this conclusion when:

a. He was gloried as a halfback after half a dozen average games in where he got most of the credit for the team playing well
b. At fullback, he has played well again for about six odd games and before that he was a complete liability.

IMO Moltzen is no fullback or halfback. He is a running five-eighth, a good one (not great) who would work well next to a controlling, creative halfback.

We already have the best five-eighth in the business and don't have a dominating halfback so I've never thought Moltzen was the right fit for us.

I hope I am proven wrong but I thought it was the right call to let him go (though now it appears we never did). Maybe he will develop into a good fullback but a few decent games at the back end of the season is all he has to his name so far. If anyone thinks he should be out halfback IMO they are f**king kidding themselves: he doesn't have a kicking game and can't direct a side around the park.

Lui has f**ked us. He was developing very nicely and now we've wasted all that time and effort on him for nothing. Stupid prick.

Hey Jubileeboy, care to take back your little 'Clutching at Straws' image reply to my statement re:Tigers holding the cards, as they are only ones with a registered contract.
