Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

Yeah agreed, Humphreys clearly is incompetent.

On what basis do you make that statement? Your CEO has failed to complete due process to ensure the player was in fact released to sign.

RLW also reported a CEO failed to investigate the history of a player joining his club in 2012. That player failed a certain test at his old club. St_Jubbsy, do you know the name of the CEO and identity of the player?:D

Why are people fighting over Tim Moltzen. He's like the Carlos Vela of league, does f**k all unless your team is winning, other wise he's got no heart and shies away from responsibility. Do Tigers fans even want him?

Its a tough one. On one hand we could finally get rid of Moltzen, but on the other hand we get to f**k over Saints.

If Moltzen is so bad that you are desperate to get rid of him than wouldn't you be f*cking them over by letting them have him?

Hey Jubileeboy, care to take back your little 'Clutching at Straws' image reply to my statement re:Tigers holding the cards, as they are only ones with a registered contract.

Sure...

Seriously, if this is how Moltzen goes about his business...you guys deserve him...and the man with the strong family genes... Humphreys.

Since Humphreys has came on board the Tigers have been in the finals twice after a four year drought. The Tigers have started to get some size in their pack and Humphreys has shown he's prepared to bust up clubs and move players on, such as allowing Heighington, Ryan, Fulton, Gibbs, Fifita and Moltzen to be shopped around. He's stood his ground against unprofessionalism from the one of the biggest Sydney clubs and he's managed to keep the coach from getting him fired so far. More members and sponsorship than ever before and handled legal situations like the one's involving Marshall and Lui with aplomb. Pretty happy with Humphreys administration so far.

Wests Tigers utility Tim Moltzen now likely to join St George Illawarra Dragons

by: Andrew Webster

From: The Daily Telegraph

October 10, 2011 12:00AM

WESTS Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys has revealed the Tim Moltzen contract dispute will be resolved in days - and he is likely to be released to the Dragons.

It is a stunning about-face from last week when the Tigers appeared ready to dig in and not release the utility star, who signed with the Dragons mid-season.

"The way that it is likely to play out is that he will be going to the Dragons," Humphreys told The Daily Telegraph last night.

"We will have a conversation with them in the next few days about it, but we have been working on the assumption that he won't be here next season.

"His move depended on us granting him a release, and that is the process we are going through now."

As revealed in The Daily Telegraph last week, the Tigers were set to block Moltzen from taking up his three-year deal with St George Illawarra, which was signed after he was granted permission to negotiate with other clubs.

Asked why the clubs position had changed, Humphreys said: "He has signed a contract with the Dragons, so that is where he's likely to end up."

Humphreys refused to be drawn into speculation that the Tigers were struggling to fit him into their salary cap if they did decide to keep him.

It has been assumed that money could be freed up if they sacked halfback Robert Lui, although there have also been suggestions the club was trying to move on centre Mitch Brown. "But we are not moving on Mitch Brown."

Still happy Fordy? Humphreys is clearly an imbecile.

That's now two backflips on the same issue - the bloke should be in the circus.

wtf amateur hour at the tigpies.

-we wont tell anyone 3 months ago we haven't released him
-our halfback bashes his missues for the 2nd consecutive year and all of a sudden we're making a big deal that we never officially released moltzen and want to retain him
-after a week of bitching we now say we'll release him and have been preparing for him not be here anyway next year

- do they change their minds next week and formally refuse a release?

You clearly are geniused. I thought you blokes would be happy because Humphreys has come out and told you all precisely what his position is, despite the fact it hasn't changed since day one. At no point did Humphreys say he wanted to keep Moltzen. The only point of contention is that Moltzen didn't get a formal release. Please point out the backflips, because if you look at the facts, you'll see none.

What an absolute circus, congrats Moltzen, his manager and Humphreys.

What a joke this situation has become.

Is this on the wall of Humphrey's office ?

Humphreys is on the NRL broadcasting committee (along with a handful of other CEO's) charged with obtaining the best possible deal out of the next TV rights contract. And may god help us all.

Finally we have a reasonable outcome.

Leason in all this : if you have a dipsh!t player you have to sack (Lui) it doesn't mean you can not stop another player leaving which you have already agreed to let go.

Humphreys, you spastic. Go get the Humphrey B Bear job at channel 9, because running a football club is way over your head.

So the Tigers told Moltzen to seek out another club but did not actually release him?

Lolz, What a funny ol' fella is Humphrey.

Give yourself a dozen uppercuts, you clown.
