He used to play for the Eels, and most here wanted him to come back and play for them again.
He's also one of the best players our club has ever had.
Makes sense that they'd want to talk about him.

Hayne had a good 2009 and a good 2014 and a few flashes of brilliance in between.
Was his debut season anywhere as impressive as Bevans? It does not matter how you get to the try line they are worth the same.

About the same really. Both had impressive debut seasons. Jarryd actually got the Dally M Rookie of the Year that year. It's a shame that Taylor and the Fijian Winger from Storm have been going so well all year to the extent that Bevan is hardly in the mix.

The other thing is that 2005 Jarryd was a skinny kid with speed to burn too. Probably not as slight as Bevan, but a lightweight all the same. He's really bulked up since then.

If anyone reckons that French is "too skinny" they've done should've seen Thurston when he was at the Dogs, skinny as a twig skinnier than Bevan by a mile.

We have something special with Bevan he is a classy player. Could be one of those once in a generation players like Hayne and we would be fortunate to have them back to back.

Hayne is a far superior athlete. Bevan has far superior instincts sniffn holes and tries that Hayne himself wouldnt of been in position to score.
Defensive Hayne destroys him. Attack wise Hayne has way more in his game.End result bevan will get you as many or more 4 pointers and cost 1/5th....
