Yes he is. Parra to Gold Coast.

It doesn't matter if he played NFL, union or tiddlywinks over the past year.

He is moving clubs as far as rugby league is concerned. So he needs a clearance.
Lol, still on your one man crusade?

Get over it. It's all been approved and a done deal. You are starting to sound like the worlds biggest sook

For those who still don't get this rule, I'll give another scenario that is essentially the same situation as Hayne. See if you can figure it out.

It's February 2015, a bloke signs up to play for Parkes in Group 11 for the 2015 season. He plays a few games in March and April, but then decides to go and play union for a local team for the rest of the season instead. He has no contract with Parkes but remains registered to them for the rest of the year, even though he doesn't play.

This year he continues to play union in March and April, but then his mate gets him to come back to league, except he wants to play for Forbes. He is able to do so because it is before June 30. He needs to register to play again because his registration lapsed at the end of last year.

Now, he had no contract with Parkes and even if he did it would have been void by now. He was unregistered at the start of this year, but he just re-registered to play RL. He was playing a different code since his last RL game a year ago.

Does Forbes need to get a clearance for him from Parkes?

Hayne to 5/8 after 20 mins. Roberts is injured, Bird will start 5/8 then move to back row. Cannot wait.....

A lot of name calling but not many people who can understand a simple rule.

It seems the general consensus here is "Move along, nothing to see here. Rules? Don't worry about them. Just drink the kool aid. Mmmm lovely kool aid."

People are either too keen to see him play for the GC or too desperate to see Parra suffer to care about whether it should happen or not. Just the usual petty biases.

Wow, this is getting stupid now....

Bro, like the song in that stupid movie my daughter makes me watch all the time, Let. It. Go...

People have given you responses, I.e. exceptions and what not from the NRL, which, given it runs itself, I'm assuming it has EVERY RIGHT TO DO, but you won't LET. IT. GO.

The fact you've equated ignoring rules, and suicide, indicates you're not all there in the first place though.

I can't believe this argument has gone on so long. The June 30 rule for clearance is

A Clearance may be initiated from the 1 November to 30 June within the same season

Hayne left the Eels 2 years ago. Therefore not the same season. Therefore the June 30 deadline does not apply

Case Closed.

No. Wrong again. That is just there in the event that somewhere in the country there are multiple seasons that span that timeframe.

Players need a clearance when they change clubs regardless of when they last played. It doesn't matter if it was last week or last decade. And they need to do it before June 30. It's really not that hard.

It's things like this that make you start to lose interest in the game. It's funny - I talk to old blokes about League and they just don't watch it any more and have minimal interest in it and all the shit that goes on. Super League killed it off for many.:(

If you don't understand the reference to blindly conforming you might want to reconsider who or what is stupid.

If the NRL can do whatever it likes then a. all rules are now obsolete and b. why did they make up some crap to try to justify them letting Hayne play when they could have just said "we're the NRL, we do what we want"?
