Oh f**k off.

Hayne playing for my team would be the worst thing.

All these bandwagoners would buy his jersey, & then I'd get lumped in with them. I might as well buy a Cavaliers James jersey....

Haha my poor brother in law supports Detroit so I have a soft spot for them.

He is still psychologically damaged from the 0 and 16 season.

From the article

On the back of Bush’s glowing appraisal of Hayne, the former Parramatta Eels ace has been offered a train-and-trial deal with NFL heavyweights Detroit.

Lmao

And I don't really understand all these well wishes.

The guy is a selfish egotistical wanker who has always put himself first.

I couldn't be f**ked going through all his articles & finding the exact quotes, but he's said/done many things which would make the eye rolling emoticon appropriate.

-f**ked up Parramatta's season & roster
-has said he didn't have the courage before to leave, then waits til Brad Arthur leaves the country
-belittled the sport
-has said he's won everything (other than a premiership.....)
-hasn't thought about who will wear 'my jersey' next season
referred to himself as a marquee player
-he has quotes which contradict that he apparently told the club about this a while ago

I have no problem with people wanting him to succeed. But let not make this arrogant wanker out to be some kind of a martyr because he's making less money now.

i hope he fails in his quest and suffers a career ending knee injury in doing so

Good to see your taking it well boys.

How are we supposed to take it?

We've been completely and utterly f**ked for five years and now we have probably at least another five of being completely and utterly f**ked to look forward to.

Depends one how good your recruitment is. You have some serious cash now to attract a number of talented youngsters and build like panthers have done. Could be a great outcome if you use the money freed up wisely.

Unless someone can actually post a link to him saying "I've won everything" I'm calling bullshit.
Don't Fafita'ise him ffs.
I've heard him say with my own ears that he's achieved more than he could have hoped. I haven't yet heard him say, or read where he did, "I've done it all".
Does it f**k Parra? Hell yeah. Parra fans have a right to feel chagrined.

As for the rest - tall poppy/jelly green eyed monsterism is rampant methinks.

We are f*cked for next year.
After that we have plenty of money to throw around. Hayne leaving has set us back, but not for as long as you think.

In 1989 the Dallas Cowboys traded away the best player in the game, Herschel Walker.
Most said they were mad. Insane. Despite them not having made the Playoffs in 4 years.

2 years later the Cowboys were in the Playoffs.
A year after that Superbowl winners.
They won 2 more Superbowls in the next 3 years.

Losing your best player isn't always a death sentence.
Hayne may be our Herschel Walker.

And any decent player agent will know that we will be desperate after six years of missing the finals and will force us to pay overs for plodders.

Hayne has every right to pursue his dream. Parra fans I cam understand the pain but he has put up with mediocrity all his career.

What! Now you have pulled that one out of left field.

The big difference for the Cowboys was that we got players and more importantly draft picks from the Walker trade. Parrammatta outside of some salary cap room have got nothing out of losing Hayne.
