Hayne to the NFL???

It's a trap!

1. Hayne "leaves" for his NFL "dream", takes a year off to get ripped, faster and even "Hayne-ier", with NFL training.

2. Parramatta use their extra cap space to secure their better juniors and attract 3-4 more decent players.

3. A year later..., NFL is a tougher nut to crack than first thought, Hayne's new "dream" is to win an NRL GF, Dave Smith uses his "extraordinary" powers to get The Hayne Plane back. Parra charge into the finals with a super team and a super bandwagon to match. Rabbs and Gus wax on about the greatest GF since Rusty tongue-pashed Sam Burgess.

4. Parramatta fans set fire to their ground again and the Wanderers wander off to wherever they're supposed to be wandering to.

I wish!

Sucks for the Eels, but it also sucks for NSW, Australia and the NRL in general.

While he could be a tool on the field at times, he was a freakish player with immense ability that carried a terrible, terrible team for years.

It's a huge loss for rugby league, and the worst part is that it's not even a moderate gain for the NFL IMO. He's looooong odds to make it.

I certainly hope the Hayne Plane doesn't suffer the same fate as MH370 and MH170.
Yes they wear helmets and pads, but they deliver a lot more power in short bursts. Their helmets are used as weapons. If Hayne can make it, it would be a miracle.

You f**king idiot... Did you even watch the whole segment???

He said the chances of him making it to the NFL were "squadouche" meaning "zero" or "Ziltch".

"Squadouche" is the previous producer Tony Reali's term.

Wilbon also said "Squadouche" to a golf question and a basketball question previously in that segment.

WTF are you on?..on your rags?

I know what the term squadouche means...I do watch the show regularly.

So who the f**k do you think you are in calling me a f**king idiot?

You want to call me out again, and YOU'LL f**king know it...BOY!

I wouldn't worry about Hayne going anywhere.

He'll be in Auckland in about 3 months time and getting ready for the 9's.

OR,he could be using all of this NFL venture as an excuse to by-pass the 4 Nations,The Auckland Nines and the first few pre-season games so he could be fresh for the start of the season.

Parra have a $1,000,000 a year investment...this could be their way of getting their mileage out of their marqee player Hayne by avoiding injury to him in Micky Mouse competitions.

First off it is Rugby League, They should do some research before making any more stupid comments..

Do they think rugby players are just sprinters that have no awareness of what is going on around them?

Lastly apparently Hayne watches more NFL than NRL so i guess he would know the basics of the stupid game...

The only people on earth who know the difference between 'League' & 'Union', is people who follow League & Union.

To rest of the 99.999999% of Earth's population, they are both Rugby.

If you are being paid for your opinion maybe get the basics right..

Or they could have just rested him or faked an injury..

I'll those players have had champion players around them. Hayne has carried duds for NSW and Parramatta since his come into grade. From the players above Johns, Fittler and Inglis are the only ones who could of done what Hayne has done in the game with the caliber of team mates.

What have the Eels achieved due to Hayne?

Carrying duds to mediocrity is not an achievement.

No premierships, no discussion.

Watching it means bugger all, it let's you understand the rules and the absolute basics but that's like teaching someone the alphabet then asking them to write an essay, it's not that straight forward there's a long process involved along the way. As for awareness, rugby league awareness is different to gridiron awareness, they're 2 completely different games, the only thing Hayne brings over from league is his athleticism, his coordination and mental toughness. His athleticism is above average but not mind blowingly freakish, what he has to hope sets him apart the mental side, how fast he can pick things up, how fast he can learn.

IMO, this is fantastic for our game. I've been living in Canada since 2007. Imagine my surprise when walking down the street to see Hayne's face on the front cover of a local newspaper. Lots of people are talking and asking 'what is this rugby league?', we're seeing clips of Hayne on the news, etc. The NRL hasn't had this kind of overseas exposure -ever-.

How selfish of Hayne to promote out game like nothing we have seen before.

Disgusting.
