Don't think that's a reflection on Hayne, it's a reflection on his teammates.

Partly, but he's the type of player that when he's on - he's fantastic, but he can also go missing for a long time as well. I don't think Parra's roster changed much from 2009 to 2010, or from 2013 to 2014, but those seasons were very different - mainly due to Hayne finding his mojo.

You could well be right, but what he does bring to the table is unpredictability (whether that is suited to a structured sport like NFL is another story). Defenders will be defending him much like they do every other player with 15 years NFL experience, but Hayne wont play like that (because he doesn't have the experience to do so). Could be a revelation, could be a bust. I'm backing bust, but i'll enjoy watching him have a crack.
Personally I hope he makes it and does well as I think it would benefit the NRL in the long run.

I guess the best way I could put is the NFL, like the NRL, are not developemental leagues, they're the top professional leagues in their respective sports.

If an NRL team came accross a guy in his 20's from Fiji, Samoa, PNG etc.. and the liked his character, work ethic, athletic ability they could take a flyer on the guy and let him learn his trade in game situations at the NSW/QLD cup level and in a year or 2 he could become a contributing member to the club.

There's nothing like that available to Hayne. The only place he can learn at game speed is in the NFL.

If he doesn't make it he could always have a crack at Arena Football.
Arena football is really minor here. It would be like him playing in a league below NSW cup. If he's going to bang bodies and risk injury at least get paid for it be it union, NRL, ESL.

I live in Seattle and the Komo4 prime time news just reported that Hayne is back in Seattle visiting the Seahawks and supposedly looking at contracts. It was kinda a shock to see it on the news here. They ran his nrl highlights package (again referring to him as a rugby star) and all seemed pretty excited. He is most def on the Hawks radar..

What a waste of talent and time.
Hayne, will probably end up in Union anyhow.
Here is a great idea, players who leave the code should be forced to rejoin the NRL at the club who receives the wooden spoon. So normally Parra.

Did they make any reference to what position they'd try and play him?

I find it absolutely impossible to believe they'd be interested in him prior to the 2015 season at the absolute earliest as there is no way they're going to make a space for them in their 53 man roster for the upcoming playoffs.

People are getting way too excited at the idea of Hayne being signed now. It's three weeks out from the playoffs. He'll be on the practice squad at best. No team is going to throw an untested player into the fire in the playoffs.

If he gets signed it'll be in the offseason and he'll go to training camp when they're allowed the bigger rosters and then he'll get his chance in preseason games one and two. After that is when they start cutting guys.

He's aiming to play special teams and without Percy Harvin Seattle have some interest in him as a kick returner so he may end up there but at the moment it's just speculation. They could grab a kid in the draft who has a specialised position and plays special teams which will make his life hard.

That NRFL doesn't seem to be going anywhere. While the website is still up they're not answering any correspondence. It's been like that for some time.
