Dude, if you actually hide the bodies in closets/dumpsters/etc you get those points back. It is -155 for knocking a non-target individual unconscious, but you gain 155 for hiding the body. Hence, it doesn't punish you if you make it look like nothing happened.

I swear to you - that does not happen to me. I knock out a guard, lose the points, hide the body, and I am still at a negative total. Last time I did it, I snuck by an entire base unspotted, only to come across a room full of guards. I noticed a distraction - I caused the distraction, gained some points, and when confronted by two armed guards I could not get around, managed to separate them, knock one out, hide the body, and get to the next area...and the points I earned causing the distraction were lost upon subduing the guard.

As I said - it's a great game, and I love it. But it puzzled me that they claim the game gives you freedom to do things how you wish, when really, there are only two, maybe three, ways to approach each mission, and in some of those ways, you are punished.

I didn't realise that by posting my comments as to my puzzlement that I'd be causing such issues...

I'm not killing anyone, though - that's the thing...

I don't mind the points system - but I was puzzled as to why knocking someone out (who is in my way and there is no possible way to get around that person) and hiding the body makes me lose points...

That's assuming thats the only way to do it, which is rare. You could have missed a vent, a disguise somewhere or a whole range of things. It's a very open ended game, watching other people play missions shows you a whole range of options you never thought were possible.

Ok so if anyone's wondering why I haven't posted anything about this game yet here's why:

I pre-ordered and purchased the game on it's release date, November 20. Then when I went home to install it, the code wasn't accepted. So I returned it.

Sent a complaint to Square Enix and insisted I will not be purchasing this game anymore.

Toodles :)

Got this for my birthday. I love the concept and how to pull off the perfect murder so to speak, or to drift by unrevealed... but, the camera control is very loose. Seems I spend most of my time correcting the camera positioning rather than viewing the ground. Amazing detail though in the graphics, great game.

So I FINALLY got around to installing and playing this game yesterday. Nice. So far, nice. You can tell that Glacier is definitely upgraded. But... this game is sooo freaking hard lol. I finished that library stage, but I had to kill every single cop so I could start searching for a way out, THEN I remember to use instinct mode lol. I'll try it again later today. I'm in the marijuana plantation apartment at the moment, it's funny as

I don't find the game all that hard to be honest, made it through a majority of the game on hard without being spotted by anyone, and getting silent assassin, where possible, along the way. Maybe I should use one of the other professional difficulties?

Let's not go ape-over voltex here. I'm pretty sure he just went with his instincts :D You can pretty much work your way around most targets, just wait until they are alone. As for not being busted, you can use instinct mode and also, use the new 'hide' technique to avoid being caught. I love that new feature

It's fairly easy to get through it as long as you're patient, running in all guns blazing will get you nowhere. And yes, the presence of instinct makes certain things more easier than they needed to be. Gong to go through it again on purist.

If you've got a decent memory, doing purist after doing it previously with instinct makes little difference.

Instinct only makes the game that much easier, after removing the map from the previous series made it way harder. Also having limited instinct makes a big difference.

Ok so here's my final thought. Well worth the long wait (considering it was purposely released on the 47th week of the year), and is an absolutely perfect game in every sense of the word.

Upgrading to the Delta 2 game engine made a big difference. The missions are longer, harder, and aren't simply as easy as killing your target and making a run for the exit, there's more to it now.

The only issue I have with the game (and this is purely opinionated), is that it runs off Steam, where I would have been happier had it been a game that runs without a 3rd party application.

I knew that Diana wouldn't be killed in the beginning like they made out, I loved the open ending and I am already looking forward to the next title in the series.

Bring it on!

Is it? I played it once and have felt no need or desire to play it again.

Dishonored, on the other hand...

Well of course YOU don't feel that way. You just snuck around through all the levels without being seen. Of course a game is going to be boring if you do just that. Mate, explore, play the game, electrocute people, shot pigs in the face, throw people down sewers, down elevator shafts, murder psychotic s**ts, blow people up, dump whale skeletons on highly-paid personal bodyguards, sets proximity mines then run like the wind, pump wannabe soldiers full of lead, swap BBQ sauce with a can of gas :)lol:), mate, PLAY THE GAME. Don't just... play the game, if you catch my drift ;-)

I had fun with the levels and went psycho and played serious as well. I loved the game, I was bored though and decided to give the poor pigs justice and murder everyone in that area very brutally.

I will say though, I had tons of fun with the sniper. I still have 97% accuracy even after several hundred shots fired. I got the achievement in exactly 47 bullets.

Mate, there is ONE PIG that you'll want to kill.

Please note, that is actual gameplay footage and what happens, it's not an edited video in anyway. Try it :D

I killed that pig without knowing of the easter egg before hand, needless to say I was surprised by it.

Did all that, and once I did...I felt no need to go back and play it again.

It's a good game, but perfect? Hmm...For me, that's a resounding no.
