Justin Hodges will have to head to the judiciary to take part in the NRL Grand Final after he was cited for a Grade 1 dangerous throw by the NRL match review committee on Sunday afternoon.

Hodges was charged for his tackle on Roosters forward Aiden Guerra in the 57th minute of the Broncos 31-12 victory in the Preliminary Final at Suncorp Stadium.

An early guilty plea would not be enough for the Broncos superstar centre to avoid suspension, meaning he'll have to successfully fight the charge at the NRL judicariy to take part in what would be his last ever game.

Hodges has announced his retirement from rugby league, meaning if he is found guilty, he'll have played his 250th and last ever NRL match.
It is expected the Broncos will fight the charge at the NRL judiciary to give their captain a chance to play in the decider.

The Broncos will clash with the Cowboys at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, October 4, for the Provan-Summons Trophy.

I think it is great how we've all forgotten about how badly a player got injured from something similar and how many people blamed that injured player.

Yeah let's just forgot that that happened cos you know. Grand final and retiring player.

This is completely different. If you have ever played the game, coaches will tell you not to try and jump out of a tackle or over a player on the ground. Why? Because you will go A over T. He will beat the charge at the judiciary. Past players surely know that Guerra brought the dangerous tackle on himself!

Gould just said in commentary that the match review committee should go on holiday and leave him alone. Embrassing.

yeah I don't get Gould...he has so many good opinions on improving the game and then he says shit like this?

He also argued that throwing punches shouldn't be a sin bin offence ....korobete incident.

What planet is he on?

The match review committee has a chequered history enough in changing the goal posts to suit popular opinion (so many kiwis were suspended prior to test matches in the past lol lol lol). Lets encourage it to be a populist review committee, gould....nice one

Gould's ego is out of control...if he thinks something then its 100% right for the game...even his stupid ill thought whimsical shit like above.

I think he would make a very effective dictator.

He can be quite good at footy analysis, although he does a bit of this: "I was just about to say..." after a play unfolds in commentary.

Apart from that, you have to learn when to tune out some of his old-timey agendas.

I reckon he should miss the grand final purely based on his high levels of f**kwitism over the years.
Be perfect to see him sit in the stands and watch his team get done by little brother on his last game ever.

How can it be his last game.. if he doesn't play.

He goes out the same way Lockyer did, a champion!

Lol blaming Guerra.
He's jumped but actually, regardless there's a possibility he still ends up like that because Hodges lifted the leg....silly of Hodges but not surprising.

Broncos are forever in bed with the NRL so he should get off, ill just about die of shock if he doesn't.

Fair play, if Gallen were to miss his last game (in a grand final) ((one can dream)). I would laughhhhhh for so long because of all his "f**kwitism" and "PED use" over the years.

Aiden Guerra to write some complete nonsense letter that Hodges did not lift him at all and that he just jumped in the air and speared himself in order to get Hodges off.

Guerra is turning into Nate Myles v2.0 in the way he puts the maroons ahead of all else

Yep and Titans fans are very happy Manly will be the ones paying overs to him next year!

There is no clearer example of someone putting themselves into a dangerous position than what Guerra did last night. He blatantly springs off his leg and dives for the ground.

But Hodges did have his other leg which should probably get a grade 1 and a week off. I wouldn't be surprised if he misses the GF. Tough luck.

The meltdown and howls around here will be delicious if he gets off though.

Veggiepatch might need to have a replacement keyboard lined up.

It's always the attacking players fault when they get speared these days right?

The same morons who want a different judiciary system during the finals, like all the Souffs fans with Isaac Luke last year.

You do the crime, you do the time, as many other players such as John Lomax, Jim Sedaris, Cameron Smith, Luke Ricketson etc. have learned.

+1 why should the GF be treated differently? All that will do is encourage dirty and dangerous play.
