Horror flicks

I've never ever seen Rosemary's Baby.

I didn't like the look of that skinny actress.

It was about the devil's child right? Bet it was a rip-off to Children of the damned. Or vice-versa.

I was walkin' my dog yesterday thinking about this thread while walking and the thing that kept coming back to me was what I said about video covers.

Hardly do the monsters on the cover appear in the film.

That Slaughter High with the skeleton holding an apple on the video cover - I wanted that to be the killer in the movie.

I wanted the boat with the spooky face on Deathship's video cover to be the killer in the movie.
(Man I was disappointed when I watched Deathship to find that there was no face on the ship at all! I thought it'd roam the ocean with that skeleton face just going, 'arrrgghhhh' all through the movie.

Halloween 3 - that video cover monster never featured in the movie.

The art work on the video covers was actually better than the movies themself.

As a kid I'd look at these video covers and be scared sh*tless yet when you finally saw them and seen how pathetic they were it was quite laughable. A lot of 'em were bubblegum and didn't live up to the video cover art work.

El Diablo but Maniac was based loosely on Ed Gein right? Did the killer get around pulling skin off the faces of his victims? I was always under the impression it was British. I've never seen it myself.

noyd, how can you rate Incubus as a great cheesey horror film? Is that the movie with a creature wrapped in a ball in a cacoon on the video cover?

El Diablo

I'm hooked with your Maniac preview link.

The killer guy....why isn't he wearing a mask?

A maskless killer eh?

He looks an awful lot like Rocky's boss. Remember how Rocky used to collect money for Paulie's pimp boss? He looks like that guy.

It's set in NY is it?

Is Tom Savini involved?

Where do I get hold of Maniac.
How'd you buy it, Diablo, over the net?

I'm down. Mark me down.

Although it had a sort of Halloween feel to it. The kid on the bike bumping into him with the snazzy music and other music sounding similar as well. Hmm.

I'm sending this wacky zainy letter to the paper right now.

I was thinking this morning that it'd be great if I was a Sheila!
If I was female I'd fondle my breasts for the majority of the day.
It may sound perverted but you'd cop free feels without having to pay some rent-price payperview type pimp tax.
The best things in life are free they say.
I want breasts!

I can't express what I really want to say.

Parki that was a comedy bro!

It was sort of like that other movie with umm, Belushi and John Ritter where they see all these circus clowns in the alley and someone goes, 'who are these clowns?'

Killer Clowns from outer Space is as dumb as Jack Frost.

Jack_frost_face.jpg

Now that's a dumb movie.
Part 2 was even worse!

That film I Spit on your Grave wasn't even creepy either.
A red head gets raped and cuts off a guys doodle in the bath tub and seeks revenge of the 3 others. Remember the boat scene and boating over the guy?

Actually, when we watched I spit on your grave last year the sound on this DVD was terrible. We had to boost the TV to 23 volume. Normal viewing is 6 or 8. 23 we jacked it up to.
This isn't even scary this movie and I don't know why it was banned in the first place????
What, the rape seen? Big deal. It's attempt at a Last House on the Left went poorly! Last house on the left is worse. I hate that.

The ending to Steve McQueens Bullit was sh*t the other night.
Now I know where Pacino and De Niro's Heat movie stole its base!

Worth a look, totally B-grade but there's definitely something inexplicably disturbing about that flick.

One of my favourite horror flicks would be Audition, it's one of the most disturbing films I've seen, for the first 45 minutes or so it comes across as some kinda romantic drama and then starts turning into a sadistic headf**k.

Yer I paid money for 'em.

Not like you computer pirates who burn everything!

I laid out exactly $100 yesterday on DVD's.

I got the following.
Piranha
Problem Child
Children of the Living Dead
Tob Hooper Collection
Terror Train and Rosemary's Killer.

Is Rosemary's Killer a sequel to Rosemary's Baby?

The Tob Hopper collection has Eaten Alive, Spontaneous Combustion and some doco on it.

I only watched half of Terror Train last night as channel 7 put some killer thing on at 9:30pm last night about the Green River Killer in Seattle. (The ad interuptions were shocking.)

I'll watch the other half of Terror Train tonight.

JB-Hi-Fi has a rather poor selection of horror films.
They didn't even have any of the Freddy movies.

Is there a giant movie warehouse where you can get all the old cheesey horror movies in SYD any where?

Maybe that old heavy metal shop Utopia? Although they'd probably slap top dollar on their sh*t. I haven't been in there in a while. They moved down from the cinema right?

El Diablo? Was Maniac a British flick? There was two movies that went under the title Maniac wasn't there as well as two movies that went under the titled Deranged as well.

Online your best bet is www.umbrellaent.com.au

In person, I've heard that Red Eye Records on King St is pretty good for cult horror movies. Check their online store. Buy everything they have before I get there and I get FREDDIE ON YA!

I know where Red Eye Records on King Street is!

They have all these expensive $99 Led Zepelin concert DVD's.
Rare Japanese concerts 'n that.

Is that place in MLB trust worthy? www.umbrellaent.com.au

Do they accpet Money Orders?

I'm out to get Maniac today.

I'll order it no matter what.

Will I be getting the edited version or uncut?

This place www.umbrellaent.com.au only has Maniac avalaible. They don't have Massacre at central high, Hellnight, Slaughter High or Audition.

Audition is a Japanese film is it? Oh, no thanks.

Bet I come away empty handed today looking for Maniac!
No prick will stock this movie in my area.
Bet it'll take weeks to get here if I order it.

That Umbrella joint down in MLB want $20 and $8 postage to send it to me.

I'll ring their arses in a minute.

Dude, go to the video store in Concord West on Concord Road and you'll find MASSACRE AT CENTRAL HIGH.....in other words, on DVD it's a rarity.

Maniac - with 52 min doco is avail at RED EYE for $31

http://www.redeye.com.au/answer.asp?reion=USA&atype=both&artist=maniac&code=&search=search

SLAUGHTER HIGH is also known as CUTTING CLASS.......Cutting Class is the more common title.

BTW-Umbrella Entertainment provides stock to shops like Dick Smith.......I picked up SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION (Tobe Hopper) and Magic (Anthony Hopkins "starring") which are Umbrella Entertainment products......the video store in the area also carries a lot of Umbrella Entertainment releases.

I picked up Bad Taste off the back of the review in this thread! This is gonna be brilliant viewing! All at Dick Smith too.

Hahaha any surprise its out of stock? That was CGI perfection! Sold out in seconds!

I wonder how movies with ideas this bad actually get to be made when B-Grade horror / slasher flicks have gone by the wayside.....SPEND MONEY ON THE SPLATTER!

Impellitteri

What's Impellitteri?

Sir? Where's Concord West?

If I were to come from Liverpool to either Town Hall or Central where would I go from there?

Is that heading out to The Northshore?

I don't know how to get there.

Can I order it and have it sent to me?

I just got hold of Horror High myself. $12 bucks!
It's American format zone 1.
Good thing my DVD is multi format.

So Slaughter High comes under the title Cuttin' Class eh?

El Diablo? You better be right about this Maniac!

It's as good as in my hands. Will pick it up next Monday.

Red Eye Records has the Zodiac uncut directors version for $50 currently.

P.S. I watched the end of Terror Train last night and I laughed my head off how they killed the geek killer at the end.
She kissed him, his hands burned suddenly and then he did the clothe twist, all tangled up in curtains, then the train conductor whacked him one with a shovel and his corpse fell out of the train and it hits the snow/river/ground with a massive thud.
I laughed my arse off how loud the thud was.
He fair smacked into the ground.

Impellitteri is the band that has one of the fastest shredding guitarists in it......apart from that, no, I have no connection to the band

BTW-I borrowed Massacre about 5 years ago, haven't been back since......unfortunately, I'd say its not even worth going to see if they have it........most video stores have kicked the VHS collection to the kerb long ago

remember when you used to go into the video store and a lot of horrors would have 'banned in Queensland' on the cover

you always knew there must be something extra in them and it made you want to hire it

so what was with the Queensland censorship?

Sir Joh. The man turned a whole state into the 1930's for a very very very long time

Maybe there should be a horror movie about him :)
