That's my copy of Horror High.
If this film is Return to Horror High then was there a Horror High to begin with?
Is
Return to Horror High the sequel to something?
I made 'the olds' watch Piranha last night.
They seemed to enjoy it.
I like listening to the noise the killer fish make.
It's laughable. (In a funny way.)
We all started imitating the fish sounds walking around last night as it sounds like our cat when he purrs in full swing.
I didn't watch it myself.
I sat up and watched "The American Nightmare."
It's a doco that came with my Tob Hooper collection.
Rather interesting too.
I didn't know Tom Savini was in Vietnam.
He was a photographer over there and took all these gruesome snap shots.
They showed 'em too.
Pretty full-on.
They claimed that a lot of the old horror films were in relation to the political themes of the day.
They sort of intertwined the theme of horror film and Vietnam as well through the documentary.
Like, comparing it as inspiration.
I don't know if the link fitted. It was a pretty weak connection if that's how it was intended.
For instance, they claim that Texas Chainsaw Massacre was based on an era where there was no fuel in the states.
And that Last House on the left had taken scenes from that famous shooting overseas.
They sort of said that it was all political. I can't explain it.
I ordered Maniac last Thursday, was it?
It only has to come from The City or Cronulla and I rings up this morning and they tell me it's not in yet.
I have to wait till Wednesday.
In that doco last night they showed a bit of
Maniac - the part where he has a rifle and scopes the two making love in the car, and I can guarantee you that that following scene will be edited in my version I get.
The guy's head gets absolutely blasted to kingdom come!
It looks real. They'd filmed it from the back seat of the car and it's quite realistic.
It's actually more realistic than Fincher's
Zodiac cab scene shooting. (That looked too fake.)
I was reading about this one last night. It's called Cheerleader Camp.
Supposedly it's rather sleazy and cheap..
It also went under the title Bloody Pom Poms. (I think we saw that.) The Australian version was called Bloody Pom Poms and The Yanks went under the title Cheerleader Camp.
Not
Space Camp either.
At EzyDVD
Happy b/day To Me and
My Bloody Valentine both appear to be available to the public.
Bit pricey though.
Remember Madman?
That axe scene especially.
He puts an axe in the chopping block and all through the movie nobody can pull it out and along comes Madman with his weak hand and pulls it out no sweat.
Blatant rip-off to Friday the 13th.
P.S. Got an interesting story to tell ya guys.
Backpacker killer Ivan Milat and his brother Richard tried to pick me and my brother up once when we lived on 299 Epsom Road Moorebank.
That's a whole different story though.
But one other time, just before video disappeared, we hired this.
It was an old video that wound its way to Liverpool Video Ezy some how.
Originally it came from some drive-through pub video store from down Campbelltown way. (Either Ingleburn or Leumeah.)
Cut a long story short, I hired it for $2.
Got home took out the video cover from the case and Ivan Milat had wrote on the inside of the cover what horror movies he enjoyed and listed his favourite ways of killing.
Even signed it Ivan The Terrible Milat.
Wish I had'a kept it.
I've got absolutely no idea where I'm going with this letter to the editor below.
I'm really struggling today.
I always thought that Algebra was useless in school.
But then it occurred to me that if you were a serial killer the fractions could quite come in handy.
Dismemberment would require knowledge about quarters and thirds right?
You could slice up a human like a pizza if you lived in a third world country and keep tabs on family members on whose eating the most portions!
Although if you were to dice a human for stew then it could get a little complicated.
We might move in to far heavier equations where fractions could become quite useless.
Kilos could replace algebra.
That's not how I intended it to come out.
